About the role:
Responsible for the development of danone foodservice commercial business with a specific focus on the top 100 national chainsBuild and execute customer/category plans that support customer and danone foodservice’s goals of building increased branded presence within the commercial sector and achieving net sales growth targets.
Key responsibilities:
Development of danone foodservice’s commercial business with a specific focus against the top 100 national chainsManagement and business development of assigned current customers as well as cultivating and securing new business across the commercial foodservice channel
Ability to effectively collaborate with internal functional partners as well as customers and external contractors to drive executional excellence, menu development and winning partnerships with customers.
Lead the identification and development of strategic initiatives, focused product categories and identified segments to meet the needs of both existing and targeted accounts.
Develop and support high value sales processes accelerating broad organizational capability within targeted commercial segments
Embrace communication and change, leveraging new challenges as an opportunity to quickly pivot and refine approach
Ensure internal resources/experts (category management, customer planning, shopper marketing, etc.) are being used to drive success at the customer
Works with culinary agency on recipe development and menu ideation to maximize customer meeting outcomes and drive new opportunities
Participate in demand planning gps process to monitor forecast versus plans
Identify when plan adjustments are needed based on monthly and quarterly sales volumes and trade spend versus budget.
Develop winning trade investment strategies and promotional programs that deliver the required outcome for both our customers and danone
Provides exceptional people influence / leadership to build and maintain a strong team culture
Build deep and strategic relationships with customers
Successfully penetrates key stakeholders at priority customers to create deeper partnerships and unlock opportunities for joint business planning for the team
Cultivate and manage profitable relationships with customers
Coordinate and lead top-to-top meetings and engage sales leadership as necessary.
Develop a clear understanding of customer’s growth strategy and decision-making process and be viewed as strategic partner
Partner with foodservice data providers (ifma, npd, technomic, etc.) to deeper knowledge of industry trends and create the appropriate tracking mechanisms and reports to maximize visibility to ongoing business performance and sales internally
Deliver customer business reviews and category performance presentations
Work with commercial marketing team to develop and implement marketing activities that drive growth for danone and our customers
Build transversal support across the business by coordinating with the front-line and senior levels in the organization
Work with other members of the foodservice leadership team to insure executional excellence and roll-out of key growth plans & initiatives.
Work proactively with customer solutions and supply chain to insure top commercial customers expectations, unique service needs and requirements are understood and achieved
Support best in class presentations and sales initiatives to support expanded roll-out across the organization
Consultative role with the commercial and category marketing organization to ensure innovation pipeline and strategic plan sets up the foodservice team for success
Builds capability of commercial sales team in interpreting channel trends and competitor variables to identify operator opportunities
About you
About you:
Minimum of bachelor’s degree in business or other related discipline; master’s or advanced degree preferred
10+ years of foodservice experience and knowledge, specifically with operators in the top 100 national restaurant operators (fast casual/qsr/ casual dine segment).
Team oriented individual with proven success working in a team environment and demonstrated experience influencing for success cross functional partners, customers and peers
Familiarity and success selling in branded culinary solutions leveraging menu ideation to the top 100 national operators
Experience commercializing new product launches within the sector including working with public relations and media to further support a successful national launch
Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills; ability to manage several layers within an organization
30-50% travel in a post covid environment
