Location: orlando, florida.
Position summary:
As a mechanical engineer at dlr group you will be responsible for the design of hvac and plumbing systems from schematics through construction administration on a wide range of building typesAs part of our integrated design teams, you create buildings that elevate the human experience through designYou would be responsible for participating in the design process of mechanical building systems and preparing detailed mechanical engineering design calculations and drawings to code.
The successful candidate will:
Develop hvac and plumbing designs from concept through construction documents.
Prepare engineering design calculations and mechanical system layouts.
Prepare detailed engineering reports and narratives.
Prepare mechanical & plumbing specifications
Coordinate hvac design requirements with architectural, structural, electrical and other disciplines.
Mentor staff
Participate in development of practice standards
Participate in trade organizations such as ashrae, aspe, same
Required qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or architectural engineering.
6-10+ years of experience in a mep firm working on commercial/public projects.
Proven experience as a mechanical engineer designing hvac and plumbing building systems on complex projects.
Experience with bim (e.gAutodesk revit mep) work flow.
Professional engineering license (p.e.)
Preferred qualifications:
Experience and interest in sustainable building design.
An appreciation and understanding of architectural design and how architects work and think.
Revit 2020 experience, proficiency preferred.
Proficiency with current industry software design tools for load calculations, energy analysis, system performance and sizing.
Good written and verbal skills.
