Corsair technical services (corsairtechnicalservices.com) is a veteran-owned small business providing government and industry customers with quality instructional systems engineering analysis, supportability engineering, logistics services, and business capture and proposal support services.
Corsair is hiring for a self-motivated and pragmatic systems engineer that can work with a cross-functional, multi-disciplinary teamThe position has responsibilities in all phases of the system life cycle including requirements development and analysis, risk management, integration, test, verification, and operationsThe successful candidate will have a strong system thinking mindset and contribute to a collaborative systems-oriented culture this position will report directly to the systems engineering integration and test lead within the product management team.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
Champion technical processes for system engineering and product development
Complete requirements development for functional, performance, and interface requirements
Support gated reviews including srr, pdr, cdr for one or several complex unmanned aircraft system development program(s)
Participate in system trade studies and functional decomposition
You will work with the engineering disciplines to develop subsystem and system level test plans that verify that requirements are met
You will develop structure, behavior, and requirements system models using sysml software (e.g., nomagic, rhapsody, innoslate)
You will perform and maintain functional hazard assessments (fha), fault tree analyses (fta), and failure modes and effects analyses (fmea)
You will support the creation of product lifecycle analyses in support of system reliability and maintainability.
You will improve processes specific to systems engineering
8+ years of experience as a systems engineer
Must be a us citizen, green card holder, or permanent resident
Working knowledge of systems engineering principles and processes
Ability to coordinate teams around complex technical subjects
Ability to prioritize and follow through on all work
Exceptional written and verbal communication with an emphasis on interpersonal and organizational skills
Experience with all stages to the product life cycle from concept to end of life
Hands-on engineering experience
Experience with both hardware and software components
Experience with agile development processes
Experience with collaboration tools such as confluence and jira
Experience with unmanned aviation development programs
Familiarity with model-based systems engineering languages (sysml/uml) and concepts
Risk management and configuration management experience
Technical degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., aerospace engineering)
