Compassion international is looking for a digital product owner (po) with web development and/or product management experience interested in using their technical skills & experience to further the mission of compassion – releasing children from poverty, in jesus’ nameThe po is a key member of the agile development team, overseeing the development of compassion’s multiple web-based technology products for supporter acquisition and retentionThe po is responsible for defining user stories and prioritizing the team backlog to streamline the execution of program priorities while maintaining the conceptual and technical integrity of the features or components for the teamThis person will define, plan, and accept the work done by the technical team membersAt this career level, he or she generally works independently to write the acceptance criteria for all stories ensuring that the acceptance criteria align with product visionThe po also knows how and when to bring in business and technical smes to ensure a shared understanding of the product direction is achieved****this can be a remote role what will you do?

In partnership with product management, maintain a clear vision for how compassions web-based solutions deliver value to internal and external users, and ultimately further the mission of releasing children from poverty, in jesus’ name.
In coordination with product management, ensures that the team backlog is prioritized and well understood going into the program increment (pi) planning event, creating additional artifacts as appropriate to communicate the vision to the team and other stakeholdersBreaks down features provided by the product manager into user stories.
Acts as the content authority for all user stories and associated acceptance criteria.
Acts as the recognized product expert, ensuring the continuous delivery of targeted value to key stakeholders & product users.
Recognizes opportunities for improvement and implements creative solutions (people, process and technology).
Participates in iteration planning setting priority and providing clarity for user stories that will be completed in the iteration (including enabler stories)Attends agile development team ceremonies – participating in daily stand-ups, system demos, iteration planning, program increment planning and other meetings as required to advance the program vision.
Refines team backlog, ensuring that there is adequate detail (just in time elaboration) to prioritize and sequence work.
Accepts stories as done ensuring that the product meets quality standardsActively participates in team demos and retrospectives.
Collaborates with other product owners to address cross team dependencies and impacts.
Coordinates between agile team, release advisor and product manager to execute change management activities for new feature/product releases: end user communications, training plans, and deployment schedules.
May coach and provide expertise to other professionals and support staff in the product ownership discipline.
What do you bring?
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent year for year experience
Must have 5-7 years of web development or product owner / product management experience for web-based applications
Experience working in product management, software development, project management or related field.

Experience developing consumer or donor facing, web-based experiences
Familiarity with e-commerce solutions
User experience (ux) and/or customer experience (cx) design skills
Experience working as a safe agile po/pm (po/pm or apm certifications a plus)
Experience with design thinking and/or human centered design
Working knowledge of .net, html, java, and/or sql programming languages
