As the event specialist (es), you`ll plan and execute events that cfc hosts, manage all elements of in-person and virtual industry conferences, and coordinate professional presentations within the fieldDaily responsibilities include serving as an event expert; working closely with marketing, sales, and innovation to identify event goals, content and promotion needs and coordinating all event logisticsThe successful candidate will have exceptional project management skills to manage pre-event planning and communications and post-event follow-up, ensuring all stakeholders are working together to deliver a high-quality event.
Primary responsibilities
Oversee planning, production, and execution of all cfc-hosted or industry partner events and sponsorships
Serve as event project manager, with responsibilities including:
Pre-event consultation and planning
Budget management
Agenda development and event flow
Event promotion and registration
Collateral and give-away development, printing, and shipping
Related travel arrangements
Staffing
Speaker and presentation identification
Build-out of virtual booths
On-site event management (includes travel)
Event follow-up and reporting
Work cross-departmentally to maintain and improve our industry exhibition presence by engaging sales staff and subject-matter experts in planning, staffing, and supporting major national and regional events
Work with manager to set strategy for thought-leadership presentations, manage presentation submissions, solicit co-presenting partners and clients, and support with logistics and presentation materials
Manage events calendar, project timelines, and budgets
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor`s degree (preferred)
3+ years of experience managing in-person and virtual events, including conference exhibits
2–3 years of experience collaborating with sales, marketing, or corporate communications teams to support business objectives with events
Experience working with vendors to meet event objectives and budgets
Knowledge, skills, and abilities
Working knowledge of project management software required (wrike preferred)
Experience with zoom, webex, or similar meeting programs
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Works well under pressure and can resolve problems
Works well alone or with a team
Good negotiation skills
Excellent communication skills including presenting to groups
Ability to brainstorm new event ideas individually and with groups
High level of proficiency in microsoft word, powerpoint, and excel with basic proficiency in sharepoint and outlook
