The global engineering center in puerto rico is looking for a senior project engineer to join the teamThe incumbent will be an integral part of a team of professionals who works together with an integrated team that are committed to growing and working together in this fast-moving company.
This position will support r&d of additive manufacturing (am) process technologies on aircraft heat exchangers designIn further designs will define, support and control products / processes, including additive parameters and other design/manufacturing/test processes needed to produce prototype hardware.
This position will sit at our aguadilla, pr location but can begin working remotely, within puerto ricoCandidate must be residing in puerto rico at the time of starting employment.
Directs all phases of programs from inception through completion.
Oversees and coordinates the administrative and operational aspects of ongoing projects within program guidelines.
Liaises between project management and planning, project teams, and line management.
Prepares proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of contract.
Reviews project and budget status, manages schedules and prepares reportsMonitors and assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer-satisfaction goals and objectives.
Represents rtx as the primary customer contact for projects.
Directs the work of employees assigned on projects in technical, manufacturing and administrative areas.
Establishes design concepts, criteria and engineering efforts for product research, development, integration and test.
Responsible for procurement of appropriate development hardware used for testing and development.
Meets program schedules and budgets.
Provides input to the integrated master schedule for project(s).
Bachelor’s degree in engineering and 5 years prior relevant experience, or
Advanced degree in a related field and minimum 3 years’ experience
In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required
Effective communication and presentation skills in english (verbal and written).
Candidate must be a u.s citizen.
Aerospace industry experience
Experience navigating competing priorities, delivering the highest level of engagement, and delivering successful outcomes in critical situations
Experience leading projects and teams within a highly matrixed organization
Knowledge in mechanical design is a value
Knowledge in thermal and structural analysis is a plus
Ms project knowledge
Evms certification is a plus
Heat exchangers knowledge is a plus.
