About application services
The application services division provides software solutions that increase efficiency, automate processes, improve customer service, and achieve city objectivesApplications partners with city agencies/department to assess technology needs, identify solutions, ensure regulatory compliance, and validate that expectations are metFrom citywide platforms to business specific tools, this division handles the procurement, development, implementation, integration, quality assurance/testing, maintenance, and support for more than 300 applications, including their underlying systems and databases.

As a senior ui developer on our team, you will have a unique opportunity to work on a variety of applications within a dynamic web environment, especially on resident-facing applications on the denvergov platformYou will perform a variety of functions in the development lifecycle including: systems analysis, programming, configuration, testing, change management, maintenance and user communication tasks to deliver new mission critical solutions to various city agencies and our residentsThis role will also give you the opportunity to provide technical leadership on implementations of new vendor technologies.
Modernizing existing legacy denver apps applications integrations and services of moderate to advanced complexity and scope, using angular 12/13 best practices.
Assisting with security posture by modernizing applications on legacy and non-supported frameworks and technologies.
Adapting the interface of legacy denver apps applications using the latest front-end technologies.
Ensuring all updated applications are compliant with wcag level 2.1 aa accessibility standards.
Developing application code and unit tests in angular and restful web services.
Participate in an agile environment for solution design, development, deployment and production support.
Works closely with infrastructure and application architects to ensure work meets development policies regarding deployment procedures and security standards.
Provide technical oversight on project implementations.
Work collaboratively with team members while taking guidance from application architects.
We are looking for someone with strong knowledge of:
Html5, css3, sass or less, and bootstrap, foundation or materialize
Angular and typescript
Accessible web design
Consuming rest apis
Git source control
Google analytics for measuring usage of applications
Experience with client-side architecture and design patterns
Awareness of cross-browser compatibility issues and client-side performance considerations
Excellence in problem solving and ability to work independently
Exceptional learning skills
Fluency in both oral and written english

Experience requirement: three (3) years of professional experience in full life cycle development of business applications.

Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements.
