Join our growing carbon solutions team responsible for identifying, evaluating, and developing low carbon growth opportunities for crcThis multidisciplinary team will work closely in the evaluation and execution of new opportunities including ccs (carbon capture & sequestration), ccus (carbon capture, utilization, & storage), renewables, and other emerging opportunities such as hydrogen and geothermal energy.
We are seeking a facilities engineer to guide the team’s strategy and effortsThis position can be located in either our long beach, ca or bakersfield, ca offices and is eligible for a hybrid work-from-home schedule.
Provide guidance and technical expertise to project evaluation, permitting and execution.
Provide technical and economic insight into emerging regulations and technologies that are of significance to our sustainability portfolio.
Support operations activities, regulatory permitting and compliance issues, and other duties as assigned.
Implement entire project cycle for sustainability portfolio projects including scope and design development, afe preparation and submittals, equipment specification and design, material and equipment procurement, construction and execution oversite, as well as project completion documentation.
Track project performance indicators (cost / schedule / scope) and resolve variances to ensure projects are delivered successfully
Manage engineering firms, expert consultants and construction firms to deliver high quality deliverables on budget and schedule
Drive innovative solutions, cost reduction and quality improvement across the suite of sustainability projects
Bachelor of science degree in chemical, mechanical, materials science, civil or electrical engineering
Five plus (5+) years of similar experience, in a related field of project management and/or facilities engineering/design
Knowledgeable of project management and project controls principals including critical path scheduling, cost estimation, and earned value, risk, and stakeholder management
Knowledgeable of gas processing and chemical plant operations and technologies as they relate to the design and operation of sustainability projects facilities
Ability to interpret customer requirements and translate them into a practical project scope
Analytical capability as required in collecting, reviewing, assessing and interpreting customer’s data and process requirements and developing responsive design specifications and parameters
Demonstrated analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse internal stakeholders and external groups
Demonstrated commitment to safety, including safety considerations in engineering design, recommendations, and operability
Must have a valid driver’s license & a clean dmv record
Certified (pmp) project management professional
Professional engineering license
Understanding current california regulatory requirements as they relate to oil and gas projects
Previous gas processing / separation facilities / chemical plant / power plant experience
Five plus (5+) years facilities engineering experience in upstream operations in the oil and gas industry
Knowledge on functionality of valves, regulators, meters, pumps, compressors and instrumentation
Experienced with technical writing and developing large technical documents.
