As a lead developer, you will be responsible for leading an agile team responsible for modernizing, developing, and implementing highly visible applications for state medicaid customersYou are confident in leading engineers, collaborating with other business units, and clients, to deliver a well-executed product to clients and their usersYou are agile and bring new ideas or improve on existing ones.
Position is remote, but candidates based in atlanta, ga, washington dc metro area (md, va or dc) or lansing, mi area preferred.
Lead application development on application frameworks and application servers
Guide application integration with cots and third-party systems with rest and soap web services
Conduct technical impact analysis on change requests and feasibility analysis on potential future application projects
Develop process flows, screen designs, and storyboarding to support system design
Ensures the delivery of high-quality code by creating and maintaining a high percentage of unit and integration test cases
Ensure code quality, application security, accessibility, and 508 compliance.
Collaborate with business analysts to finalize the system design and technical solutions
Create conceptual design and write technical specifications for business requirements
Review and approve required documentation, such as the low-level design document (lld)
Ensures code written complies with cnsi’s standard and best practices by conducting reviews
Mentor developers in design thinking, adoption of cnsi standards, and utilization of technologies, tools, and processes

Experience/preferred skills required:
Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 10+ years of relevant work experience
Solid experience leading solution development with clients and third-party system vendors in healthcare system implementation
Proven experience leading system implementations through requirements, design, development, test, and implementation phases
Demonstrative working knowledge of application software development using java application frameworks and application servers
Strong working experience with ci/cd pipelines steps and automation tools
Vast working experience with relational databases (such as oracle, sql server)
Strong working experience in implementing best practices around branching strategies, semantic versioning, and other devops practices
Strong working experience of defect and document management tools (i.eJira or confluence)
Working knowledge of configuring applications on cloud infrastructure (i.eAws)
Mmis (medicaid) experience in provider and claims system implementation is a “big plus”
