Experienced field engineer to service revolutionary protein analysis instrumentationThe successful candidate will be a key member of a field team responsible for maintaining instruments and supporting customers to a high standard across germany and as required europe.
Customer and instrument support
Deliver onsite customer facing and remote support to diagnose and independently repair complex electro-mechanical scientific instruments in a laboratory environmentAbility to prepare samples for instrument testing as required, basic laboratory skills essentialField based role with extensive daily travel in europe and on occasions worldwide
Schedule, administration and inventory management
Works independently with minimal direct supervisionManage and schedule customer appointments till completion and on occasion the creation of detailed technical paperwork and support documentsTimely submission of service reports to clients and monthly expense / travel claimsManagement of personal inventory for successful repairs and field support
Support of sales and field applications team
Work collaboratively to support the sales team with pre and post sales enquiries and tasksSupport the field applications team both remotely and onsite to ensure successful resolution of complex customer situations and issues
Education and experience:
Fluent business english
Ba, masters in an engineering / science field or 3 years’ experience in hi-tech sector
A minimum of 3 years’ experience in industrial / scientific sector, preferably in a similar industry
Personal computer repair skills and strong computer skill set, (windows and microsoft products)
Ability to travel as necessary – travel 80%
Strong brand ambassador
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in english
Proven customer-oriented skills in technical support and problem solving
Strong organizational and administration skills
Excellent attention to detail, time management and process management.
Self-directed and creative.
