Owns moderately complex business segment, which includes directly producing all merchandising and visual directives for that areaAll directives must be comprehensive, accurate, and achievable, grammatically correct, and completed by deadline providedCommunication must be professionally formatted using approved, consistent directive templates.
Schedules and leads regular touch bases with merchant teams within designated segment to understand product strategies, develop merchandising direction, and identify collateral needsServes as main point of contact for merchants for day-to-day operation.
Coordinate communication of vendor provided brand guides pertaining to designated segment.
Coordinate and develop visual collateral for designated segment in collaboration with scvmm/cvmm to support corporate strategy, newness, and seasonal visual sets.
Partner with scvmm/cvmm on visual requests for designated segmentCoordinate with marketing and production teams on visual support request forms and project quotesCreate directive to communicate delivery of collateral and placement once approved.
Coordinate intake of vendor supplied collateral and share with scvmm/cvmm for approvalCreate directive to communicate delivery and placement once approved.
Create conceptual renderings in sketch-up for high priority projects to support visual strategy, in partnership with vp/scvmm/cvmm and merchantsDeliver timely updates as needed.
Attend and participate in all staff and team meetings.
Assists with in store merchandising of prototype install set-ups and best practicesPhotograph compelling examples as needed for reference in merchandising/visual directives and training materials.
Assists with updating seasonal flow and adjacency documents as directed by scvmm/cvmm.
Provide exciting and innovative visual solutions that set belk apart from the competition.
Travel stores monthly to evaluate success and identify opportunities in execution and communication.
Shop the competitionRecognize and analyze specific opportunities within designated business segment.
Special projects and others as assigned by scvmm/cvmm.
Minimum education & experience:
Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent years of experience
Specific degree: visual merchandising, fashion merchandising, interior design or related field
Specific training: in store visual experience and/or corporate visual experience
3 or more years of in-store visual merchandising
1 or more years using sketch up for renderings in a work environment
Knowledge of store organization and workload
