The purpose of the role:
The purpose of the field sales representative is to be responsible for supporting the achievement of revenue targets for barrette outdoor living, specifically rdi and duralife, through conversion and retention of clients by generating awareness of, creating demand for and providing technical support and training for these products among architects, target builders, remodelers and contractors/installers in their geographic area of responsibility.
Also, the position will support the specific territory sales manager and assist with the various industry events such as dealer trade shows, contactor events, training, etc.
Create and manage a list of target builders, remodelers, contractors/installers in their geographic area of responsibility
Meet with contractors, builders, deck builders and installers to generate awareness and understanding of rdi and duralife products and convert them to ongoing customers.
Provide in-field training to end users as appropriate.
Generate, track and coordinate opportunities (leads) with the appropriate local dealers and their sales representatives.
Secure projects/sales and answer contractors, builders, deck builders and installers questions about products, prices, availability, applications and installations.
Promote barrette b2b contractor/builder rewards program at every opportunity.
Respond to end user`s needs on a timely basis.
Create and maintain current customer records using company provided automated systems.
Develop and maintain relationships with local dealer sales and customer representatives
Create and maintain an aggressive territory travel schedule of end user contacts/ sales calls and events with local dealer yards and dealer sales representativesSchedule periodic contractor events at dealer yardsSchedule periodic joint sales calls with assigned dealer sales representatives
Keep local territory sales manager informed of demand generation activities with dealers.
Encourage placement of rdi and duralife product marketing, samples, promotional, educational materials at dealer sites as appropriate to build awareness.
Work within the established operational expense budget to promote growing sales while keeping expenditures at or under budgetComplete expense reports, sales reports, and other paperwork as required.
Assist with monitoring of the annual sales and production forecast by communicating knowledge of large project work and spikes as well as drops in sales volume of specific products or categories within the territory.
Work with the field support manager in hosting marketing trailer events at dealer locations and trade shows.
Supports a culture of positive and constructive motivation to encourage and motivate other employees to perform to expectations.
Monitors competitive products, manufacturers, pricing, sales and marketing activities via networking at the scheduled events and communicates findings.
If that sounds like you....here`s what we need in terms of education and experience:
3 plus years in building products industry.
2 year associates degree or applicable work experience.
Satisfactory driving record and valid driver’s license.
Proficiency in ms office suite.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to travel as required.
Ability to manage and report travel expenses.
