What you'll do
Facilitating the implementation of the agile enterprise data risk management strategy by fostering continuous learning and collaborative interactions within agile teams.
Serve as a liaison between business and functional areas and technology to ensure that data-related business requirements are clearly defined, communicated and well understood and considered as part of operational prioritization and planning.
Actively measures compliance to the data policy for critical data and reports.
Working constructively in an autonomous and holistic way to support agile risk management, and bhg’s erm framework - coso 2017, to achieve company goals.
Fostering a shared relationship with key stakeholders within the first and second lines of defense, enterprise data management, info-sec, and compliance teams, to ensure procedures and key risk indicators are developed and monitored for compliance.
Execution of the data governance capabilities and operations management as outlined in data strategy
Coordinates with operational and reporting data stewards to create data controls, identify measurement definitions, and manage using dashboards.
Assist in documenting various governance roles and responsibilities then educate data stewards, data owners and data custodians
Maintains ongoing communication with data stewards to ensure critical data issues are communicated timely for remediation.
Collaborates with the data stewards, data custodians and report developers to ensure consistent use and maintenance of data definitions, authorized data sources, and calculationsAdditionally, enlists business unit support to take ownership and responsibility for consistent definitions and quality of their data.
Collaborates with the data stewards, architecture, and information technology to prioritize and resolve: data sourcing, business rules, data aggregation, data distribution, and data consumption.
Ensures operational data stewards define and maintain: data definitions, descriptions, set values, quality rules, and calculations in the business glossary.
Establishes and maintains programs to monitor and measure data governance adoption and achievements.
Responsible for maintaining a library of enterprise critical reports with associated reporting metadata.
Documents and maintains data governance activities, maintains logs, and records issues and corresponding resolutions.
Produce data governance dashboards on a recurring basis.
Enroll data owners, data stewards and data custodians around active management of critical data and key issues
Manage documentation as well as remediation of key data issues
What you'll need
Understand the basics of enterprise risk management, integrated tools, techniques, and concepts to enable cross referencing key controls to enterprise risk already documented in bhg’s enterprise risk register.
Identify and assess enterprise data risk - vulnerabilities & threats (primary & secondary) - with support of risk ownersAs agile change management is ongoing, partner with management to identify inherent and residual risk issues.
Risk and control experience assessing application control environments, including identity and access management, change management and itgc.
Develop and document procedures in support of enterprise data governance and data management program.
Knowledge of the lending value chain, back-office operations, and loan servicing ops.
Experience working and effectively collaborating with reporting, operations and technology teams.
Performing walkthroughs and documenting process flows using charting techniques to demonstrate integrated information systems and its supported processes clearly; including segregation of duties, etl, and key control design.
Monitor performance of it ops kris and / or kpis to measure inherent and residual risk, follow-up providing feed-back, “managing upward” to raise awareness of changes to enterprise risk.
Track and follow-up through the erm remediation processOrganizing and analyzing information and summarize assessment conclusions for review.
Strong presentation, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Working knowledge or hands-on skills with jira agile change management tool, erm and risk assessment tools (zengrc – erm – a plus) and data analytics software (sql, power bi, etc.).
Knowledge of information access and delivery methods, analytics applications and tool portfolio, data sourcing and integration methodsUnderstanding of data warehouse, etl, data cleansing, and architecture.
Familiarity with operational and support environment issues.
Must be driven, operationally savvy, action-oriented who continually strives for improvement.
Strong critical thinking ability and problem resolution skills.
Ability to work independently with light to moderate supervision in various areas of responsibility
Excellent interpersonal skills, verbal/written communication skills and strong project management skills.
Experience consulting with senior management
Thorough knowledge and operational skills in the data governance
Thorough knowledge of personal computers and various software packages, including excel and word.
Experience with credit risk analytics.
Prefer 3 years of banking experience, preferably in regulatory reporting or credit.
5 years of experience performing and leading it audits, in the financial services industry.
Ba/bs in business, finance, accounting, technology, and information systems.
Professional audit or information security certifications preferred (cia, cpa, and / or cisa).
