What you will contribute:
This position will be responsible for providing finance business support to a variety of operational and cross-functional areas within the companySupported groups will include sales/commercial, engineering, manufacturing, marketing and other functional teams.
Business needs and priorities will dictate the required tasks, projects, and analyses to be conducted by the senior analyst – operational finance business supportPrioritization and direction of key projects will be provided by both the vice-president – controller and senior vice president – chief financial officer.
This is an individual contributor (i.eNo direct reports) and project-based role that will routinely interact with cross-functional leadership to support and aid business decision-making to drive positive financial outcomesThis role requires flexibility both in terms of priorities as well as location depending upon business needsPrimary responsibilities: the primary responsibilities of the senior analyst – operation finance business support include, but are not limited to, the following activities:
Assist the business and functional personnel with business case development and the preparation of financial justifications, including project authorization requests (par) for:
Product-related engineering and development projects
Capital projects, including significant machinery & equipment acquisitions and facility expansion projects
Information technology equipment/systems
Other projects requiring significant capital spending
Provide business support to aid commercial decision making in the areas of:
Commercial pricing decisions (turnkey projects, large bids/rfps, pricing renewals, price increases)
Product margin and profitability analysis
Product costing, including “see-through” margin analysis to eliminate the effects of transfer pricing
Customer account margin and profitability analysis
Financial analysis to support commercial team structure and staffing changes, commission plan design, etc.
Assist with business development and m&a opportunities/targets:
Financial modeling – forecasts, discounted cash flows, purchase price simulations, etc.
Target company research and diligence
Coordination with outside parties (i.eInvestment bankers, target companies, consultants)
Liaison to corporate finance personnel for due diligence and integration activities
Provide support for major facility and capacity expansion projects:
Participate as member of facility team
Assist team with identifying and quantifying local tax and related incentives
Develop project/accounting budgets/systems to track and analyze project spend, project completion, construction in progress and related accounting entries and implications
Finance function backfill in the event of critical personnel departure/gap:
Temporary backfill resource – locations may be other than milwaukee
Fulfill existing job duties to ensure seamless transition between departing/replacement roles
Other projects/duties as assigned qualifications:
8+ or more years of related experience
Multiple years of progressive accounting/finance experience in roles such as financial planning and analysis, controlling, cost accounting, customer profitability, and other finance special projects.
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college
Preferred background in accounting / finance
Certified public accountant (cpa) preferred
Required competencies:
Excellent communication skills for working with management, functional leaders, peers and internal customers
Ability to adjust to changing priorities- ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
Flexibility to travel and work remotely depending upon business circumstances, project needs, and/or staffing requirements
Successful candidate will be a highly motivated team player with excellent interpersonal, analytical and problem solving skills.
Ability to influence decision making and operate cross-functionally is critically important
Self-motivated and proactive, both with respect to managing workload and own professional development—strong work ethic.
