As the head of solutions consulting at backstop, you will be a go-to-market leader playing a critical role in helping our prospects understand the business value of backstopYou will work closely with the department heads in building out go-to-market strategies and creating programs to support the visionThrough your deep product knowledge and expertise in how companies use and leverage fintech applications, you’ll support our sales team to ensure that they properly align with our customer-base to maximize the value backstop can bring to our customers teams and organizationsThe head will be expected to help drive sales cycles and ensure that all demonstrations, proof of concepts and sales executions are aligned with organization processes and best practicesYou will collaborate cross-functionally working with product management, sales, relationship management, professional services, and revenue operations to align our go-to-market strategy and assets with customer needs.
Core responsibilities:
Lead, manage, recruit and develop a diverse and effective solutions consultant team.
Partner with the sales teams to develop and drive sales strategy for key prospect, from client alignment/discovery through close
Position yourselves as a trusted advisor for customers and for the sales/relationship management teams
Co-create collateral in partnership with product marketing organization for solution specific presentations and demonstrations
Build talk tracks and positioning tailored to specific client verticals
Develop metrics and track progress on the initiatives
Be in the trenches with the team: coach solutions consultants on technical selling skills, provide constructive feedback while also performing demonstrations for active sales cycles
Become a product expertCollaborate with product leadership to influence product roadmap and development across verticals
Act as knowledge center for backstop to consult on the intersection of client/prospect demand and system optimization
Serve as a bridge to product and engineer to bring insights from end users that drive the product roadmap
Deliver thought leadership on how our solution can better tackle the key issues facing our diverse user base
Required experience:
5-7 years of previous experience as a pre sales consultant, sales engineer or sales-focused project management
5+ years of experience in fintech or alternative investment industry
Experience in mentoring/managing individuals with a track record of retaining talent
Ability to plan 3/6/12 month roadmap of team contributions with associated smart goals
Ability to establish trust with users and ability to influence key decision-makers in the sales cycle
Experience building and delivering proofs of concept (pocs) and responding to functional and technical elements of proposals independently and effectively
Proven hands-on experience building and deploying solutions to customers
Strong prioritization and project management skills, understanding of business impact for various solutions
Intellectual curiosity and drive, a willingness to seek out opportunities to learn and maximize the chance to grow aggressively
Experience with clientele in hedge funds, endowments, private equity, or pension firms required
U.sTravel required (approximately 20%-30%)
Bachelor`s degree required
