Responsibilities: the virtualization solutions engineer – virtualization technologies will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the best-in-class virtualization and remote work platformThis role plays a crucial role in driving the brph technology strategy, laying down the technology road map, development of best practices/guidelines, and automation of operational tasks and services.
The senior engineer role provides support for implementation and design services for infrastructure hosting services using virtualization and hyperconverged technologies and acts as a subject matter expert in case of escalation for support issues.
Design, install, and maintain windows servers including future state for associated infrastructure.
Vmware administration including esxi host builds, upgrades, and migrations.
Design and architecting high-availability and disaster recovery solutions.
Train and mentor other system administrators; serve as a point of escalation for system issues.
Troubleshoot system malfunctions and/or other unplanned outages, and provide analysis and recommendations for resolution and prevention.
Minimum: * bachelor`s degree
Desirable: * master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or business preferred
Experience required: *
7+ years of experience overall
5+ years of experience designing, and implementing enterprise solutions and services in related /similar environments
Knowledge required: *
Architecture/design concepts: client/server, n-tier, design patterns, cloud design for production: * resilience, scalability, availability, performance, security.
In-depth understanding of linux (esxi) and windows server operating systems along with a good working knowledge of vmware virtualization technologies.
Good understanding of datastores, networking, storage, and vmware infrastructure (vmotion, vsan, vxrail).
Experience managing os images and builds, deployment, and release processes.
High-tier troubleshooting of complex virtualization and networking systems with overlapping fault domains (e.gIdentifying a storage networking problem vsA firewall policy issue).
