The boeing defense, space & security (bds) team is seeking multiple mid-level electronic & electrical system design engineers and electronic & electrical design & analysis engineers to join the boeing defense, space & security (bds) team located in heath, ohio (35 minutes east of columbus, ohio)The selected candidates will be responsible for design, development, test and sustainment of electrical, electronic and electro-mechanical products and test equipment/software in support of the u.sStrategic deterrence systems (u.sAir force intercontinental ballistic missile, u.sAir force & u.sNavy guidance systems and other military programs).
Position responsibilities include:
Providing engineering support for product sent for repairs from a variety of military (u.sAir force, u.sNavy and foreign) customers
Engineering responsibilities include reviewing test data, directing repairs, developing process improvements, capturing process changes, and solving problems brought about with new workloads and part obsolescence
Close collaboration with program management, other functional engineering groups, operations and other functional counterparts is required
Electronic & electrical system design engineering position responsibilities:
Work with customers to develop and document complex electronic and electrical system requirements
Analyze and translates requirements into system, hardware and software designs and interface specifications
Test and validate to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements
Monitor supplier performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements
Solve problems concerning and provide other support of fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle
Research specific technology advances for potential application to company business needs
Electronic & electrical design & analysis engineering position responsibilities:
Analyze customer and system requirements to develop basic architectural approaches and detailed specifications for various electronic products
Develop high-level and detailed designs consistent with requirements and specifications
Validate designs through various methods of review, testing and analysis
Identify, tracks and statuses technical performance measures to measure progress and ensure compliance with requirements
Support supplier management with make/buy recommendations and other technical services of limited scope
Provide engineering support throughout the lifecycle of the product
Investigate emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements
Work under general direction
Electrophysics engineering position responsibilities:
Develop and validate requirements for various communication, sensor, electronic warfare and other electromagnetic systems and components
Develop and validate electromagnetic requirements for electricalelectronic systems, mechanical systems, interconnects and structures
Develop architectures to integrate systems and components into higher level systems and platforms
Perform trade studies, modeling, simulation and other forms of analysis to predict component, interconnects and system performance and to optimize design around established requirements
Define and conduct tests to validate performance of designs to requirements
Manage appropriate aspects of supplier and partner performance to ensure compliance to requirements
Provide support to products throughout their lifecycle by developing root-cause analysis of anomalies and other engineering support as requested.
Support project management by providing work statement, budget, schedule and other required inputs and by reporting project status
Write appropriate sections of proposals to support development of new business
Work under general direction.

Basic qualifications (required skills/experience):
Bachelor`s, master`s or doctorate of science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry and 5 or more years’ of related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (ex: phd, master’s + 3 or more years’ related work experience)
Preferred qualifications (desired skills/experience):
Advanced degree in these relevant fields: engineering, electrical/electronic engineering, systems engineering, or software engineering
Typical education/experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.gBachelor) and typically 5 or more years` related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.gPhd, master+3 years` related work experience)In the usa, abet accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
