Proposal graphics designer and documentation specialist
Aurora is seeking an experienced proposal graphics designer and documentation specialist to produce effective, clean, and creative visual materials, in support of the proposal operations teamThe graphic designer is responsible for delivering creative and adaptive concepts and content from conceptualization to final product for a multitude of topics and audiences, including proposal graphics, technical publications, and select corporate- and marketing-related projectsThe ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, quick-turnaround, team-based work environment and have the ability to handle multiple projects and/or proposals - meeting deadlines with a high level of skill and leveraging a range of design and publishing tools.
This position is open for in-office, remote, or hybrid working arrangementsWhile candidates near our offices in cambridge, ma, or manassas, va, are preferred, a fully remote position is available for the right candidate.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with engineering and business development teams to develop, create, and format professional proposal documentation with consistent, information-rich graphics, error-free copy, and appropriate formatting that clearly conveys aurora’s key messages and meets all proposal requirements
Work with proposal teams to conceptualize proposal graphics and support the proposal team with formatting and incorporating text, photographs, and graphics into proposal templates
Contribute to the development of new concepts, graphics standards and templates, and improved processes, training delivery, and proposal-related workflows
Develop various types of graphics from simple boxes and flow charts to high fidelity 3-d renderings used in the development of proposal documentation
Professionally integrate text and graphics into professional documents that meet both industry best practices and company standards
Use and apply applications such as ms powerpoint, ms word, and adobe creative cloud and other graphics development and publishing applications for the development, integration, and publishing of proposal products
Minimum requirements
Degree in graphic design, information design, or visual communications (or similar discipline) plus 5+ years of relevant graphic design and proposal experience; or a combination of equivalent work experience, education, or training such as proposal graphics training and/or certification from other professional organization or support companies (e.g., apmg, ost, shipley, sm&a)
Ability to conceptualize and design persuasive information-rich proposal graphics while meeting all proposal requirements and process deadlines
Ability to design and develop various types of graphics from simple boxes and flow charts to high fidelity 3-d renderings used in the development of proposal and marketing documentation
Comprehensive knowledge in the use of applications such as ms powerpoint, ms word, adobe acrobat, and adobe creative cloud, including photoshop, illustrator, and indesign, and other graphics development and publishing applications for the development, integration, and publishing of proposals
Strong artistic ability, including desktop publishing experience, oral presentation material development skills, and experience visualizing data into appealing layouts and multimedia products
Desired requirements
Preferred experience in using sharepoint as the configuration management and collaborative vault for developing proposals and for knowledge capture
Experience and training in professional editing for proposals is a plus
Experience as a technical writer is a plus
Experience in developing technical publications is a plus
Physical requirements
Ability to work occasional off nominal hours due to customer deadlines
