Summary:
The gis technician builds and maintains gis data to support engineering and construction functions as well as external client requirements and ad hoc requests.
Duties and responsibilities:
Responsible for geodatabase design, schema development, and data management
Responsible for the creation, collection and/or assimilation of gis data from various sources
Responsible for analysis of internal and external data requests and implementing adjustments to the design data
Monitor semi-automated tasks to ensure data quality
Provide feedback to the design engineer team to ensure data standards are met
Manipulate data and assist in creating deliverables or other documentation needed by the client/construction contractors.
Requirements:
A degree in gis or a related discipline or 1 year of professional gis experience using esri products
One (1) year of ftth design experience – preferred
Experience with google earth and manipulation of kmz files.
Good written and oral communication skills
Positive can-do attitude
Be a problem solver
Strong organizational with an ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple simultaneous assignments
