Experience a culture that is flexible, where you can be innovative and use your creative energy to help people through difficult timesAssurity is a life and supplemental health insurance carrier that is leading the way in providing emerging technology solutions and insurance products for our partnersIn this position, under supervision of the vice president, individual sales & ventures, you will focus on increasing sales in the northeast territory that is consistent with product and strategic goals of assurityAn effective candidate will have the ability to demonstrate assurity’s competitive advantages to national marketing organizations (nmos), brokerages and other agency distribution with every contactAlso, be able to effectively analyze the territory and develop strategies to focus market/sales efforts, and expand distribution capabilities through recruiting and developing existing distributionThis individual shares accountability with their assigned regional wholesaler for the sales results within their assigned territory and other possible segmentation.
Essential functions
50% increases premium and sales in assigned territory that is consistent with product and strategic goals, which includes:
Prospecting for, qualifying and recruiting effective distribution of assurity products;
Working as a consultant with new & existing distribution to provide insights to enhance sales, which may include digital transformations.
Monitoring production requirements;
Developing and strengthening relationships with distributors;
Making face to face and virtual contacts with distribution with weekly appointments with current or potential sources of distribution;
Utilizing product reports to develop strategy to determine initiatives to meet sales goals;
Maintaining an in-depth knowledge on products, home office processes, and sales strategies.
20% provides competitive advantage through value proposition to distributors with every contact, which includes:
Working with independent distribution to enhance sales through differentiation strategies;
Building persuasive ideas for delivering our value proposition
Providing field “intelligence” and competitive data to competition desk
20% effectively manages the assigned territory, which includes:
Utilizing home office support, and marketing
Utilizing contact management system for basic territory management and contact management reporting;
Working collaboratively with other senior sales managers and team members to develop territory to meet sales goals;
Working collaboratively with internal sales support to hand off service issues to call centers;
Planning strategically for trips and partners with sales support for results;
Making daily phone/e-mail/social media contacts when not traveling and tracking in contact management system.
10% expands distribution capabilities through recruiting and developing independent distribution channels other distribution which includes:
Assisting with locating and developing alliances between home office and future co-marketing partners;
Meeting all required deliverables for reporting, follow up service requests and special assignments;
Developing innovative sales ideas and training based on field data gathered through benchmarking success of others;
Coordinating all field training and hosts at least one nmo in the home office four times per year.

Experience and skill requirements
Six to ten years’ experience in sales and territory management in financial services/insurance.
Professional oral and written communication skills required.
Decision-making ability and analytical thinking skills required.
Word processing and spreadsheet software proficiency required.
Experience in public speaking .
Licensed in insurance sales preferred.
Talent required in achiever, pride, persuasion, courage, communication, business sense, critical thinking, sophistication, relator, personalizer, belief, discipline, responsibility, and focus.
Education and certification requirements
Bachelor’s degree in business or related field or equivalent.
Physical and work schedule requirements
This position will manage the northeast territory of the united states.
This position is remote with occasional visits to the home office located in lincoln, ne.
May require work in excess of 40 hours a week in order to complete functions of position.
Travel as much as 10-12 days per month once covid subsides.
