Why us, why now? a service of the aamc, the visiting student learning opportunities™ (vslo®) program enables thousands of students at medical schools across the us and internationally to search for clinical rotations offered by hospitals and health systemsOver 43% of all medical graduates have accepted a rotation through the vslo® program and more than 300+ teaching hospitals have joined the programIn this role, you will identify and capture new business for the vslo programYou will focus on establishing and encouraging relationships with other health professions, organizations and medical specialty groups, u.sAnd global, with the goal of building new vslo user groups to support expansion of away rotation and other short-term student opportunities for a variety of health professionsHow will you make an impact? research and planning
Research prospective accounts in target markets to plan and implement new target market initiatives.
Develop a growth strategy focused on opening new health professions relationships that will result in increased product usage of the modernized vslo software to support their similar short term opportunities.
Identify, develop, and implement near term and long-term vslo growth strategies.
Works closely with vslo senior leaders, the data team and the other business development specialist to prioritize new/expanded business opportunities
Outreach and relationship development
Develop vslo awareness and proficiency
Conduct vslo demonstrations for potential customers
Participates in all facets of user development including marketing planning, proposals, interviews, and business development strategy
Supports the addition of new users within the medical education space as identified within the strategic new business plan, either directly or by developing new relationships with specialty groups to build new pathways to improve vslo’s efforts to expand current institutional users’ rotation offerings
Aid in developing vslo/aamc leadership relationships with potential new market leaders through multiple channels including attending conferences and other events
Follow up with clients providing them with necessary information during the decision-making process
Work closely with the vslo technical team to insure current and future use of the system by others in the health professions can be supported
Program and process improvements
Documents and maintains effective and efficient processes for salesforce procedures and policies.
Compiles monthly vslo metrics report utilizing quantifiable data while monetizing increased product usage.
Aid in the development and execution of the vslo program benefits
Articulate the process/technical supports necessary to fully support other health professions use of vslo
What will you bring to the role?
A bachelors degree and 5-7 years of experience is required.
Experience in an association/nonprofit growth marketing or strategic program expansion required.
Experience working with specialty societies and with health professions is preferred.
Experience working with large hospital systems or within academic health centers also valued.
Experience managing programs in salesforce is preferred.
