Utilizing a wide variety of interfaces, developers in this position will be responsible for system integration coordination and administration of integrated systems, modules and integration applications, including mirth connect, hl7, fhir, and various scripting platformsThis position will support arkansas children’s care network, a state-wide pediatric clinically integrated networkThis position requires a self-motivated individual with excellent written and communication skills, and experience with interface and scripting technologies, as well as other technologies (ms sql server, ssis, powershell, reporting services)Key responsibilities will require collaboration with healthcare professionals and information services team members to plan and produce working solutionsSignificant emphasis is placed upon engineer creativity and flexibility, adherence to established development standards, and ability to overcome difficultiesThe position will also aid in the performance of any other tasks assigned to the department.

Job description primary duties and responsibilities
1Develop interfaces and etl solutions to meet the needs of the health system
Work with users, team leader, vendors, and other members of the group to determine a project specification, interface design and architecture
Responsible for system integration coordination and administration of integrated systems, modules and integration applications.
Responsible for etl solutions that allow for movement and transformation of data between systems.
Responsible for organization integration technologies and platforms, interface configuration in a multi-system integration environment with packaged application customization and custom integration development with integration programming, analysis, coding design, development, configuration, implementation, testing, documentation, application programming and solution analysis, support, maintenance and troubleshooting.
Identify potential areas of improvement for existing interfaces and propose/implement changes to improve those processes.
2Provide on-going support for interfaces and etl solutions.
Provide professional, friendly, and supportive customer service to all end users.
Provide support for all interfaces, integration applications, and etl solutions whenever the need arises, including on call after hours support.
Strong customer service and team focus is required.
Accurate track and document issues encountered during interface support.
3Follow development guidelines and standards.
Follow established processes for system deployment, testing, revisions, and updates.
Follow programming guidelines and standards.
Work with architects and other technical resources to improve standards.
4Maintain knowledge of current and future technologies
Participate in training initiatives for developers and users.
Attend and participate in developer meetings
Learn through online training (e.gPluralsight), developer conferences, and experimentation with new workplace technologies.
Teach classrooms and technical sessions for other developers
Maintain a working knowledge of hl7 and other applicable integration standards.
5Create and improve processes, including documentation.
Implement automated system audits and other tools to assist in creating best practices
Assist in data project standards, such as best practices for unit testing and auditing of interfaces and processes around interfaces
Help manage all relevant knowledge bases for interface and etl-relevant information.
6Actively steward data assets through auditing, testing, and other best practices
Initiate and/or attend data governance review meetings during the project with team members and end users.
Prepare audits, test cases, and written documentation to communicate ideas and objectively validate the integrity of data transformation processes
Actively participate in the development life cycle by anticipating problems and recommending alternative solutions.
Required - bachelor`s degree from four-year college or university - field of study: computer science, computer engineering or a related field , or or four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred - master`s degree or equivalent degree - field of study: computer science, computer engineering, business administration, or related field
Preferred - doctoral degree
Required - 3 years total experience required, which includes 3 years of of interface development or related integration experience or etl integration development (programming in sql) experience
Preferred - 4 years interface development experience preferred
Preferred - 1 years working in a healthcare or consulting environment experience preferred
Preferred - 1 years developing and maintaining hl7 interfaces in mirth connect experience preferred
Certification / license / registry requirements
Required - epic certification(s) specific to all assigned roles (certification) (needed within 12 months of hire date)
Required - advanced verbal and written communication skills
Required - strong critical thinking and analytical skills
Required - strong problem solving skills
