Job description
This is a remote position.
Responsibilities:
Create solutions design in the merchandising space to support the oracle retail merchandising foundation cloud service/merchandising system implementation.
Solution design: includes defining impacted systems, defining strategy for upgrade/technical work, deployment strategy, environment strategy, monitoring, logging, containerization strategy, dr (disaster recovery) impacts, migration path, and future upgrades.
Provide a long-term regionalization strategy to separate data by geographical regions and provide a solution to address the long-term goals.
Identify upgrade impacts and provide solutions and strategies to minimize the overall impact due to the upgrade
Work with project manager and tech leads to help drive technical spikes to completion and a path forward
Team up infrastructure and security team to help with the design of cloud-ready applications in the future state
Ability to escalate vendor issues to oracle, and work through technical spikes/support tickets to drive a path forward
Develop, train, and mentor other application architects both through project work and/or poc (proof of concept) work for solutions designThis includes regular technical updates to the team, informal and formal training sessions, and 1-1 coaching
Serve as an advanced technology leader and as such, a role model both technically and behaviorally
Document architectural standards and design patterns for reference in decision-making, development, and build practicesEnsure leverage and use of the architectural practices, devops and other standards are built into future and existing projects
Requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field and 15+ years of experience in various roles of technical leadership within a large-scale organization
Must have: oracle rms or oracle retail merchandising foundation cloud service/merchandising system experience
Technical skills to include integration of oracle retail merchandising foundation cloud service platform with other related systems
Experience with oracle cloud and/or azure technologies is helpful
Experience building microservices, and swaggerhub is helpful
Experience creating blueprints, and solutions design documents for enterprise-level projects.
