The vp supply chain will be responsible for developing and leading the strategic planning and execution of procurement, materials and logistics to ensure production efficiency, quality, service, and cost-effective management of resources to maximize profitability and customer satisfactionThis position will also be responsible for the implementation and evaluation of all supply chain logistics activities and procedures, including, but not limited to, production planning, material procurement, inventory control, outsourcing, vendor selection, and distribution.
Duties and responsibilities
Lead a team of logistics, materials, and procurement professionals, to exceed customer expectations, with the highest level of quality at an optimized cost position.
Administer and ensure quality and safety procedures are being followed throughout the organization’s material handling process.
Serve as subject matter expert for best-in-class procurement practices and tools.
Establish key supply chain relationships with vendors and strategic suppliers, drive for efficiencies, oversee supplier evaluation, selection and engagement including the development of data analysis and clear, robust business requirements to support informed supplier decisions.
Manage s&op, demand planning, inventory and order fulfillment with advanced planning and optimization of the organization`s supply chain performance against projected costs and timelines.
Accountable for monthly process, meetings, metrics and reportsThe position requires the ability to understand & influence the metrics for effective material movement and delivery.
Must be capable of translating objectives and needs into deliverable strategy to achieve business goals as well as ensure the value chain has the required materials to create a competitive advantage of the product portfolioCommunicate and coordinate between departments to influence change and issue resolution, often requiring ability to operate in a matrix environment or influence peers or other leaders.
Manage the procurement and inventory control team’s activities to ensure execution of responsibilities, including ensuring appropriate resources and skill sets are in place including training or other capability enhancement.
Establishing and nurture relationships with key business stakeholders to facilitate formulation and execution of long-term sourcing strategies, establishing clear and measurable goals focused on continuous improvement in both cost and performance.
Coordinate the development of solutions to complex logistics support problems with other product support functions, customers, and suppliers.
Bachelor`s degree in a related field plus 10+ years of related work experience.
Experience of dealing with regulatory bodies such as dot, osha, and epa.
Experience handling and setting of budgets and financial performance parameters.
Must be skilled in balancing supply risk (i.eCapacity, constraints) with improvement opportunities.
Requires 50-75% travel.
