Full job description
Sureway transportation company, the brokerage division of ats (anderson trucking service), is seeking a regional agent development manager to join our team! this role is responsible for providing support and leadership to assigned agency owners by building strong relationships to help agency owners increase revenue and client base for themselves and surewayResponsible for recruiting new agentsThrough effective recruiting and relationship building constructs a high performing team to maximize agent success and sureway profitability.
This is a full-time, u.sBased position (indiana, illinois, and/or ohio preferred) and telecommuting/remote eligible for candidates who possess proven experience.
Education and experience
Bachelor`s degree (b.a.) from a four-year college or university; or 2-3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in the transportation and logistics industry.
Firm understanding of the transportation industry with strong working knowledge of brokerage, operations, logistics, and transportation principles.
One to two years of supervisory experience preferredStrong performance management, training and coaching, recognition, and reward skills preferred.
Basic knowledge of budgeting, forecasting sales, profit & loss statements and accounting required.
Strong interpersonal skills; able to establish trust and rapport with all levels of peopleAble to relate effectively to diverse cultures.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage and prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication skills (written, listening and verbal).
Ability to negotiate skillfully in challenging situations with both internal and external customers.
Strong planning and problem-solving skills; able to identify and resolve problems in a timely mannerAble to gather and analyze information and develop alternative solutions.
Strong computer skills, including microsoft office (word, excel and outlook) and the internet (social media, internet databases and research tools).
Willing and able to travel regularly, including overnight travel.
Essential duties and responsibilities
Develop and utilize various passive and aggressive strategies to attract, recruit and onboard new agents to sureway.
Train new agents how to use sureway systems and processes and how to effectively build and retain customers.
Coach, mentor and motivate agents in different techniques to grow their customer base, increase profits and how to operate efficiently.
Build strong working relationships with agents so this person becomes the resource for problem escalation and resolution.
Assist agents and customers with issues and escalated problems and when necessary, the ending of a customer relationship.
Assist agents in lead generation, initial contacts or any other assistance to help get them on track and/or reenergized so they can be successful.
Monitor, track and report on each agents performance to management and provide performance feedback to the agent.
Provide a superior level of service to the agent as a key method of retention.

Position will require work responsibilities outside of normal business hours, and regular travel will be required.
