SrCasandra engineer wanted by gbt us llc in new york, nyFunctioning as a senior member of an agile team and being responsible for driving consistent development practices (including tools & common components); partnering with business upstream system owners and business customers to understand business requirements and determine the best design for the solution architecture; driving data architecture solutions that are consistent with enterprise standards; creating and providing direction and oversight for data modelers on the design of relational and dimensional models; helping customers to understand and leverage existing data sets; interfacing with upstream system architects, developers and program managers to resolve data issues and drive the capture of data needed by business customers; writing code and testing, and leading team and stakeholders through ongoing product/platform release sprints; performing necessary activities to drive standard definitions; developing, validating and communicating modeling solutions, including relational, dimensional and flattened models; providing maintenance and management of large (multiple data center) cassandra and dse clusters; designing, building, configuring and maintaining the overall health of multiple nosql db clusters (dse and open source cassandra); implementing high availability solution and defining backup/recovery strategy; engaging with infrastructure and system engineering team for an efficient and optimized hardware and os configuration, and rack layouts for nosql db cluster set up and expansion; providing nosql db version upgrade as and when a stable version is released, coordinating with application teams for driver upgrades, support os patching and hardware upgrades; providing capacity planning of db clusters, which includes data sizing estimation, identifying hardware requirements based on the estimated data size and transaction volumeMigrating, securing and scaling cluster; providing migration of application from legacy solr system to dse search, legacy rdms to nosql db platformCollaborating with development teams on architecture and deployment of cassandra database systems; and investigating and resolving operational issues, coordinating with db vendor for support, and performing debugging, tuning and automation of operational and continuous integration aspect of the nosql platformMonitoring of nosql clusters using industry accepted monitoring tools and mechanisms; supporting kafka cluster setup and maintenanceMust have a master’s degree in computer science, applied computer science or a related field plus three (3) years of experience in the job offered or related occupationIn lieu of a master`s degree plus three (3) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation, will accept a bachelor`s degree in a relevant field plus five 5 years of experience in the job offered or a related occupationMust also have 3-5 yrsExp(depending on degree) with db design and data modeling; 3-5 yrsExp(depending on degree) with data architecture; 3-5 yrsExp(depending on degree) with shell scripting; 3-5 yrsExp(depending on degree) with linux; 3-5 yrsExp(depending on degree) with performance tuning; 3-5 yrsExp(depending on degree) with rdms, sql; 3-5 yrsExp(depending on degree) with l1/l2/l3 support; 3-5 yrsExp(depending on degree) with requirement analysis; 3-5 yrsExp(depending on degree) with database administration; 2 yrsExpWith dse cassandra; 2 yrsExpWith apache cassandra; 2 yrsExpWith dse search, solr; 2 yrsExpWith dse analytics, spark; 2 yrsExpWith ansible; 2 yrsExpWith cql (cassandra query language); 2 yrsExpWith dse cluster monitoring tool like opscenter; 2 yrsExpWith apache kafka; 2 yrsExpWith cassandra data modeling; 2 yrsExpWith datastax enterprise tools; 2 yrsExpWith business travel domain; and 2 yrsExpWith jasperreportsMay work from home office anywhere in the united states.
