Full job description
The primary purpose of this position is to design, code, test, and analyze software programs and applicationsThis includes research, design, documentation, and modification of software specifications throughout the production lifecycle.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the followingOther duties may be assigned.
Analyze and amend software errors and provide related status reports.
Collaborate in the conceptualization and development of new software programs and applications
Assist in the preparation and documentation of software requirements and specifications.
Research and document requirements of software users.
Conduct research on emerging application development software products, languages, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts.
Recommend, schedule, and perform software improvements and upgrades.
Consistently write, translate, and code software programs and applications according to specifications.
Run and monitor software performance tests on new and existing programs for the purposes of correcting errors, isolating areas for improvement, and general debugging.
Administer critical analysis of test results and deliver solutions to problem areas.
Generate statistics and prepare and write reports for management and/or team members on the status of the programming process.
Assist in the development and maintenance of user manuals and guidelines.
Install software products for end users as required.
Write programming scripts to enhance functionality and/or appearance of company website and/or related web applications as necessary.
Remove code script from company website and/or related web applications as necessary.
Act as a liaison with network administrators, systems analyst, and software engineers to assist in resolving problems with software products or company software systems.

Education and/or experience
Required: associate of science degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical institution or equivalent combination of education and experience; minimum of one to three years’ experience developing complex, database-driven web applications using asp, asp.net, c# or vb.net, html, css, xhtml, xml, microsoft sql, and ajax.
Preferred: bachelor of science degree in computer-related discipline; minimum of three to five years’ experience developing complex, database-driven web applications using asp, asp.net, c# or vb.net, html, css, xhtml, xml, microsoft sql, and ajax.
Technology and competency abilities
Ability to work without close supervision and make appropriate decisions independentlyAbility to work with urgency, accuracy and attention to detailAbility to effectively prioritize and execute tasks and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Must have a working knowledge of coding relational databases for web applications, including working knowledge of the following:
Must possess excellent written, interpersonal, and oral communication skillsAbility to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organizationAbility to read and interpret documents such as operating and procedure manualsAbility to write routine reports and correspondenceAbility to proofread and mark up corrections on copy provided by customersMust have spelling and grammar skills.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimalsAbility to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphics.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram formAbility to interpret needs and develop concepts to deliver professional solutions to visual problemsMust be able to interpret instructions and apply to multiple functionality requirements of projectsMust be able to research, adapt, and self-train in an ever-changing environment.
