Infotainment design release engineer
Job summary:
Our client in auburn hills, mi is looking for an infotainment design release engineerThis is a contract position.
What you will do:
The infotainment design release engineer is responsible for development, test and delivery of state-of-the-art audio and infotainment featuresThe design release engineer will also be responsible but not limited to:
Managing the integration of an infotainment system into specific vehicles.
Supplier management for hardware and software releases as per the vehicle timeline.
Heavy focus on implementation of quality improvements to the infotainment system.
This will include quality analysis of issues, leading supplier engagement, visit to customer vehicles to dive deeper into issues, and drive closure of open issues and validate software fixes.
Basics:
Bachelor’s degree in electrical, computer, computer networking & security, electronics & information security, computer program & system analysis, or computer science or related engineering field from an abet accredited university.
Knowledge of infotainment systems and features
Understanding of vehicle system engineering
Understanding with design failure mode & effects analysis (dfmea) & design verification plan & report (dvp&r)
Self-motivated with excellent program management and communication skills.
Proficient in excel, word, powerpoint, and google suite of applications
The role requires a highly motivated and hands-on team player with an exceptional attention to detail.
The role will suit an engineer who has the ability to quickly develop skills in new areas and liaise with other engineers with the cross functional team.
Self starter with ability to understand project needs, develop a plan, and complete the plan on time.
Automotive infotainment or automotive quality experience
Ability to lead cross functional teams and automotive
Onsite/ remote hybrid - mostly remote but onsite could be possible
Travel - 10% - either to client or to supplier office in novi, mi (for remote contractor)
Preferred:
Master’s degree in electrical, computer, computer networking & security, electronics & information security, computer program & system analysis, or computer science or related engineering field from an abet accredited university.
Lead design verification of infotainment features
Experience with infotainment systems: bluetooth, hands-free phone, am/fm radio, navigation, audio media and infotainment hmi features
Experience in analog/digital audio or telematics hardware/software implementation.
Knowledge of vehicle networks and diagnosis tools
Strong problem solving skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
20% international travel
