Alphia, one of the nation`s leading custom pet food manufacturing companies, is looking for a seasoned manager, sales & operations planningThis position can be based in denver, co, hazleton, pa or remoteThe manager, sales & operations planning is responsible for implementing best practice and supporting continuous improvement in the s&op process, specifically demand planning managementThe manager, sales & operations planning should also ensure that the demand plan is aligned to business needs and give recommendations on prioritization areas of risk and improvement to the plan.
Description of essential duties:
Lead implementation of demand planning process, tools and kpi’s
Owns the short-and-long term demand plan inclusive of all co-manufacturing and private brand business.
Plan and manage the sales & operations planning meetings driving consensus and getting sign-off on the demand plan
Deliver forecast accuracy that drives appropriate inventory levels as well as service levels that meet or exceed customer’s requirements
Have a full understanding of the company’s business strategies and initiatives, and apply these towards the sku level forecasts that drive the company’s financial plan and inventory management
Incorporate upsides and risks from marketing team
Stay current with sales and key account managers
Lead the understanding of demand vsCapacity, identifying the potential for demand to exceed capacity both short and long term
Proactively identify potential service issues
Provide building block, using the demand plan, for the annual operating plan/budget preparation set forth by finance
Develop appropriate supply chain strategy to maximize customer satisfaction at the lowest possible cost
Participate in strategic initiatives as they are developed, such as product portfolio management to rationalize for simplification
Provide insight and recommendations regarding health of demand pipeline to sales and supply chain leadership
Assume responsibility for own personal development and continuous learning.
Keep abreast on new technology, methods and regulations related to responsibilities
Practice customer intimacy with internal and external customers in day-to-day responsibilities

Qualification requirements: (to perform this job successfully, and individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorilyThe requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required).
Education: b.a./b.sIn finance, supply chain, economics or related fieldMba preferred, 5+ years of related experience in demand planning/supply chain; experience with demand planning software systems
Apics or ibf preferred
Expertise in demand planning and forecasting (in pet food industry or cpg preferred but optional)
Thorough understanding of sales and operations planning (s&op) or integrated business planning (ibp) process
Significant experience with demand planning process, master data and analytics
Strong understanding of trade inventory modeling & demand forecast principles
Project management experience preferred
Advanced numerate, analytical, and critical thinking skills
Versed with best-in-class erp systems and other useful platforms (excel, “best in class” supply chain planning tools)
Demonstrated competencies in initiative, planning, strategic thinking, problem solving, decision making, and delivering results
Ability to manage and direct internal and external resources
Ability to interact with internal customers at all levels and build rapport
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong analytical, organizational, and critical thinking skills required
Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple projects
Ability to analyze and communicate numerical data utilizing analysis and visualization capabilities
