The business development team is responsible for establishing/developing/maintaining strategic relationships with non-proprietary product providers to support the optimization of the alr distribution program in efforts to ensure that meaningful retirement and investment solutions are offeredThis role ensures the retirement and investment sales strategy is implemented consistently across regions to enable success of personal financial representatives and to achieve production credit plansThe role represents the business area in strategic planning activities with senior-level executives both internal and external.
Responsible for developing, communicating and achieving retirement and investment sales production plans countywide
Oversees the allstate broker dealer`s pre-compensation team and successful implementation of this software, processes and procedures
Engages prospective carrier partners and senior leaders in appropriate due diligence conversations
Oversees contract and compensation negotiations with prospective carrier partners
Accumulates and organizes business intelligence, competitive tracking, benchmarking, acquisition and alliance analysis.
Provides leadership in developing and achieving business unit priorities and plans based on sound, compelling financial insights, consideration of risks and implications to growth/profit
Champions new ideas and initiatives; identifies and actualizes new business opportunities; fosters innovation and calculated risk-taking
Leads an organization to address diverse and complex situations to determine solutions, alternatives or guidance
Builds and maintains relationships with senior management within the company and externally
Proactively monitors extent to which current partners are meeting allstate expectations for production, product availability, and service (both agent- and customer-facing service)
Identifies and recommends steps to remediate any emerging issues relative to production, product availability, and service (both agent- and customer-facing service)
Provides proactive communication to appropriate team members regarding relationship trends relative to production, product availability, and service (both agent- and customer-facing service), or other emerging issues
Identifies and recommends steps to optimize partner value and present recommendations to senior leadership.
Oversees execution of approved recommendations
Maintains the carrier agreements (contract) with each partner.
Education and experience:
Bachelor`s degree or equivalent experience; may also have advanced degree
12+ years related experience with strong distribution and sales leadership andrelationship management experience
Finra series 6 and 26 required or the ability to acquire in the timeframeset forthby the allstate broker dealer
Extensive sales, sales leadership, communication, compensation and financial services regulation knowledge, with working knowledgeof retirement and investment product solutions
Superior communication skills across multiple levels and mediums
Certificates, licenses, registrations:
Finra series 7 and 24 required or the ability to acquire in the timeframe set forth by the allstate broker dealer
Industry certifications preferred*(cfp, chfc, clu, lutcf, crcp)
Proven track record for obtaining business results through the development of effective internal and external relationships
Advanced ability to balance priorities of multiple stakeholders to effectively develop and implement sales strategies across multiple leadership teams
Problem solving ` uses seasoned judgement by applying broad knowledge and experience when addressing complex issues
Ability to negotiate and influence others vertically and horizontally toward the understanding and achievement of complex ideas and business solutions
Familiarity with the financial services industry, including competitor`s and trends, to leverage when developing sales strategies
