Mission of the position
The mission of the environmental engineer is to help drive new technology adoption in the market, includingcustomizing it to specific market applicationsThis person would serve as allonnia’s creative subject matter expert on system design, capabilities, and performance expectations for new remediation products in a variety of media and applications.
Key criteria/requirements
Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree in engineering; p.ePreferred
7+ years of relevant environmental remediation system experience including environmental field work and hands-on experience maintaining and troubleshooting remediation systems
4+ years designing remediation systems
3+ years of bioremediation experience
Experience with emerging contaminants including pfas and 1,4-dioxane strongly preferred
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Effective organization/analytical skills; experience writing detailed technical proposals and reports
Strong project management skills, experience managing subcontractors, and a track record of on-time or early delivery and an eye for detail
Thrives in a fast-paced environmentMust be capable of managing multiple projects that are deadline oriented, handle interruptions, and be flexible with changing tasks
The integrity to maintain and promote high social, ethical, and organizational standards in all matters
Ability to multi-task, maintain flexibility, travel, and work independently with minimal supervision
Experience with software tools such as: autocad, ms project or equivalent, ms office, gis
Must be a u.sCitizen or national, u.sPermanent resident (current green card holder), or lawfully admitted into the u.sAs a refugee or granted asylum
Boston preferred, but location is flexible
Responsibilities & measurable accountabilities
Deploy new technology in the field
Interface and build partnerships with customers as the sme for pilot and full-scale designs with new remediation products (in situ and ex situ)
Design and document the site-specific deployment approach and cost estimate
Oversee (remote or on site) product application of new remediation products (in situ or ex situ); on time and under budget
Collaborate with internal and external partners to achieve customer success
Project reporting, process improvement, and data analysis
Document site/project descriptions including lessons learned and deployment protocols thoroughly and in a timely manner
Contribute consistently to the technical knowledge management system
Continual identification and documentation of opportunities to improve deployment processes
Regular development of project reports for customers and partners
Analyze and interpret project data
Commissioning and field support (remote and on site)
Manage manufacturer and o&m subcontractors through commissioning, troubleshooting and routine o&m, including completion of manufacturer warranty obligations
Coordinate unit mob/demob, and maintenance schedule including site access and site personnel notices
Train and maintain site personnel on safety procedures and requirements
Liaison for remediation product performance
Serve as direct liaison between client, system manufacturer and o&m subcontractors for system performance related activities
Support system manufacturer with custom system designs including collection and development of performance specifications and site criteria
Manage remediation product delivery and fleet
Track system production and delivery with system manufacturer, including client notifications
Manage leasing fleet including deployment and maintenance schedules, and product refreshes
Support the business development team in the sales cycle with technical expertise and value articulation
Support in development of quantified value propositions that communicates the value of the technology
Delivering customer-friendly presentations outlining the system’s technical capabilities
Supporting proposal efforts including scope, cost and schedule for system installation and o&m
Develop technoeconomic models for new products resulting in customer-friendly selling tools
Supporting the launch of new products, including tradeshow participation
