Collections complex account specialist
Remote position - work anywhere in the us.
How will you contribute and grow?
The collections complex account specialist is responsible for the daily activities related to the credit and collection function for their assigned portfolio and requires collaboration with the divisions, field, customer master and sales teamThis position will focus on holistic collections on complex accounts requiring problem solving and strong communication skillsThis will require a seasoned professional who has an understanding of the root causes of past dues as well as the ability to sustainably fix those root causes.
Note: this is a remote based position due to the need for flexibility of work hours (i.eCoverage of multiple time zones in order to service both internal and external customer needs / communication).
In particular, you will:
Review, prioritize and execute on daily collection activities with the goal of reducing past dues / past due percentage.
Engage customer and internal airgas subject matter experts to resolve purchase order issues (missing po; incorrect po; po expired; po out of funds; etc) in order to avoid payment delays.
Review various account set ups are correct in sap (invoicing email address correct; tax status correct; etc.)
Work directly with customer single point of contact to ensure that they are processing timely in their procure to pay cycle (goods receipts done timely; ap payment runs on schedule; etc)
Collaborate with division, regional company; branches, otc etc who have a higher defect rate in the order processing / order entry / order management process to eliminate the billing errors before they happen.
Work with nam and the customer to ensure pricing is correct in their system.

Qualifications
Are you a match?
Bachelor’s degree in finance/business administration or related field (in lieu of degree 5 or more years of credit and collection experience will be considered).
Five-plus years collection experience in positions, preferably with multi-industry knowledge and exposure.
Knowledge, skills & abilities:
Strong communication and leadership skills and the ability to assume increasing responsibilities in a rapidly-changing environment.hands-on user experience with sap / other erp systems.
Working knowledge of the fair debt collection act, the consumer credit collection act, federal fair billing act and state and federal laws applying to collection activities.
Good organizational and analytical skills as well as an ability to motivate and communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
Proven ability prioritizing and dealing with multiple tasks.
Experience in working with different departments and cross-functional teams.
Flexibility and willingness to learn and take on new functions and responsibilities over time.
Ability to think critically, work independently, and problem-solve within delegated authority, yet not afraid to ask for assistance to ensure accuracy / minimize errors.
Escalates issues and seeks advice when faced with complex issues/problems.
Applies procedures to ensure accuracy of output and adopts continuous improvement approach.
Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines.
Maintains working relationships with operating personnel within the company, promoting positive and progressive credit for the purpose of giving and exchanging information and works jointly on customer problem resolution.
