Opportunity at a glance: the financial systems analyst plays a key role in supporting the processes and systems that are used in the development of financial statements, financial models, and operations analysisThis role coordinates financial systems activity for the business user community and serves as a liaison between finance and the it department on day-to-day issuesThe financial systems analyst is expected to understand lawson erp and longview close user functionality, how transactions are processed, report generation and month-end closing procedures and processesResponsibilities:
Supports the monthly close, financial reporting and management reporting process.
Coordinates with it colleagues, consultants, vendors and user groups in resolving issues and implementing changes.
Security administrator for longview close.
Researches system problems and errors.
Meets regularly with it team to review status and prioritize work.
Monitors access requests and systems activity.
Works collaboratively with other institutions/functional areas (e.gAccounting, real estate, marketing, academic operations) to assist with enhancing business processes, internal controls and reporting.
Manages small projects as the leader and/or participating team memberDocuments requirements, test cases, test results and create user guides.
Maximizes user functionality of lawson erp and longview close systems by consulting with the vendors.
Comprehends and defends user security strategy and plans, ensures segregation of duties is maintained and assists in the monitoring of user activity.
Coordinates and leads semi-annual user access review (uar) for financial systems.
Provides user training guidance.
Assists users with their need to pull data from lawson, longview close or generate data files.
Identifies process improvement opportunities.
Completes other duties as assigned.

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance or accounting.
Minimum 2 years of finance and/or accounting systems experience with demonstrated ability to analyze financial and operational systems and processes.
Thorough understanding of financial reports.
Advanced microsoft excel skills and experience with excel add-ins tools are desirable
Demonstrated project management, and analytical skills.
Ability to effectively organize information, manage tasks, and analyze data.
Skill in organizing and integrating information from a variety of sources.
Insightful and service oriented
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Knowledge of relevant functional business, accounting and record keeping practices of a publicly held company.
Knowledge of modern business and an erp system’s interconnected modules and processing concepts, techniques and operating principles.
Has an aptitude for relevant business systems design, research, configuration and implementation.
Comfortable using flow charts showing business system processes and workflow, data and resource requirements
Demonstrated ability in documenting specifications for configuring and modifying business system set-ups and functions.
Experience with corporate erp systems preferredExperience with lawson erp a plus.
Potential to assume increasing responsibilities within the department and the organization.
