Job summary
Acuity brands is looking to appoint a talented and experienced merchandising manager to create, oversee and implement merchandising strategies across our sales channelsThis individual will utilize customer and market research in creating the merchandising strategyPartnering with sales and product development teams to determine merchandising needs and prioritiesDeveloping and executing voice of customer feedback to continually assess existing merchandising as well as testing of new concepts.
Lead the development and execution of strategic merchandising based on thorough knowledge of the market, brands and products while addressing needs of customers, sales channels, and product development teamsWork with vendors to drive innovation in merchandising to increase product salesAll include:
Overseeing the planning and implementation of merchandising strategies
Creating eye-catching displays that showcase the brand and our products
Requesting of bids and negotiating the costs of displays with external vendors
Evaluating new vendors and their capabilities
Track, manage and adhere to the merchandising budget
Understanding the customer base and their key needs/pain points
Tracking merchandising inventory and replenishing as needed
Manage relationship with 3rd party display vendor on display allocation, inventory, demand, etc.
Utilize merchandising expertise to support product line reviews (plrs) for home center
Provide monthly report out at the product/sales/marketing engagement meetings on merchandising updates and strategies
Research and voc to validate merchandising strategy which includes:
Conduct research through store visits across home center and distribution reviewing competitor displays as well as other trends
Collaborating with home center sales, c&i sales, distributor, agencies, and marketing teams to brainstorm new and opportunities and solicit feedback on new concepts
Researching and monitoring industry trends and consumer behavior
Oversee voc research through external vendor
Work alongside finance to create reporting and kpis for:
Merchandising roi, monitoring sales of those with displays vsThose not with displays
Assessing the effectiveness of different products displays based on sales data
Reaching sales goals for c&i and hc for products with merchandising displays created
Create and maintain standard work for merchandising activities, continually looking for areas to streamline and create efficiencies.
Required experience and knowledge:
The ideal candidate has strong project management and organizational skills including planning and prioritizing workload.
Excellent communication skills including speaking, writing, listening, and negotiating.
Effective strategic planning both for short-term and long-term opportunities.
Exceptional ability to analyze data and draw relevant conclusionsIndividual should be detail-oriented with a creative mindset.
Ability to track, manage and adhere to the merchandising budget.
Capable of building relationships across the matrix with our sales, product, and marketing teams and are skilled at influencing and coordinating with different stakeholders.
Efficient at working independently but also being a collaborative team playerIndustry, product knowledge and some merchandising experience preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in marketing or business management.
Physical requirements
Ability to lift, carry, push, pull occasionally for merchandising displays.
Location: remote but preferably located in the atlanta metro area.
