Summary: responsible for overall management of project for safe, successful and timely completion in accordance with project plans and specifications, and within budget.

Assists in or prepares complete estimate for selected project with detailed review of proposal specifications, drawings, take-off information, subcontracts, and the likeEffectively communicates to project team any changes/additions to estimate.
Effective at understanding contract obligations and manages carious contract bids.
Evaluates specifications to plan procedures, starting and completion times, and staffing requirements for each phase of construction.
Assembles and directs members of project team (supervisory, clerical, engineering, cost control, and other workers) at start of projectEffectively communicates scope of work, budgets, schedule, and any other details.
Assures that orders for procurement of tools, equipment, and materials to be delivered at specified times to conform to work schedules.
Oversees supervisory personnel and labor representatives to resolve complaints and grievances within work forces and unions.
Inspects work-in-progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to specifications and adherence to construction schedulesMakes use of quality department in meeting plan specifications where appropriate.
Prepares or reviews reports on progress, materials used and costs, and adjusts work schedules as indicated by reportsAssures that costs and projections are accurately reported and updated as needed.
Provides technical assistance, i.e., interpretation of drawings, recommending construction methods and equipment, etcAs requiredInitiates and maintains extra work estimating and issuance of change orders.
Acts as public spokesperson interfacing with concerned public and regulatory officials.
Conducts construction activities within federal, state, and local environmental rules and regulations.
Responsible for communicating scope of work and issuance of subcontract documentationMaintains status of all subcontractors and adherence to scheduleWhere appropriate, schedules regular site meetings and sees that minutes are taken and distributed.
Prepares monthly status reports of all current projects including project contract amounts, final projected costs, accurate of committed cost, payment status of past billings, project issues, and the financial impact of projects.
Works cooperatively with other project managers to ensure optimal utilization of company resources, including personnel, (superintendents, foreman, coordinators, etc.) company equipment and tools.
Complete accountability for project performance and financial impact from beginning to final collection of all billed amountsAssures that billings are kept current and final payments are received, alerts management as issues arise.
Participates in month-end meetings to discuss with management in detail the status of all open jobsBe prepared to discuss any issues and have potential solutions prepared.
Will oversee the project and assist in the supervision of on-site employees to ensure project expectations are being met and regulations are followed according to company objectives, policies and applicable lawsResponsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of jobsite office employees and union supervisionBelieves in azco’s zero injury process.

Education and/or experience:
Bachelor’s degree (b.a.) from four year college or university, and five years heavy industrial construction experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experienceExperience managing mid to large capital projects in various scopes of business strongly desired.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of ms access, excel, and word; viewpoint accounting software or similar software; primavera scheduling software or similar software.
Other skills and abilities:
Advanced knowledge of discipline, construction technology, design, applicable codes, standards, etc., required.
Ability to interpret the interconnection of different processes (mechanical, electrical, civil etc) and to plan job accordingly to avoid conflicts.
Strong problem solving skills.

High level of mechanical aptitude, strong problem solving skills and budgeting experience.
Travel: must be willing and able to travel approximately 40-50% of the time and travel to undetermined sites for the duration of a project.
