Overview: am trace has immediate openings for 2 contracted full-time e pidemiologist/ data analyst for covid testing and vaccination data processing, analysis, and reporting.
A successful epidemiologist centrally receives, cleans, analyzes, and presents aggregate data and statistics describing covid-19 testing results, vaccination parameters, and trends system-wide; provides technical assistance to sites on data submission to promote timeliness and enhance data quality; uses multiple data streams to analyze and describe vaccine preventable disease (vpd) incidence and prevalence in conjunction with vaccine coverage among ai/an population, emphasizing covid-19 and related health outcomes.
Establishes access to and acquires technical proficiency in the use of the ihs covid-19 data collection portal, ihs systems housing data on vpds and vaccination, and resulting data and displays; Performs data quality checks, other validation steps, and consolidation of data, documenting limitations and caveats that will inform analytic methods and results; Works with submitting sites to correct data inconsistencies and improve overall data quality; Provides technical assistance to sites on data collection, submission, and troubleshooting related issues; Consults with and advises on the technical development of ihs covid testing and vaccine-related reporting and surveillance tools, including dashboards. Conducts statistical analyses on system-wide, general vpd data, including covid-19 testing and vaccination data submitted by clinical sites; Explores the relationship between vaccination status and disease trends within available data; Analyzes available data for trends and metrics to inform intervention and response; Develops reports, presentations, etcBased on analytic findings to effectively communicate results and trends; Evolves data visualizations and analytic products as necessary to satisfy the situational awareness needs of senior leaders and other stakeholders; Streamlines data collection, processing, analysis, and reporting, including automating processes where possible.
Minimum qualifications/ experience requirement:
Experience working with clinical and/or public health data sets; Proficiency in data analysis, including use of analytic software and related tools; Experience developing custom analyses and data visualizations to meet information requirements of non-technical stakeholders and the public; Able to develop cogent summaries and reports of testing and vaccination data and trends, including narrative reports, briefings, and slide sets. Proficient in the use of microsoft office software, including excel and powerpoint. Proven customer service skillset that proactively fosters rapport with stakeholders at all levels.
Preferred qualifications/ experience requirement:
Proficient in sas statistical or similar advanced analytic software package. Ability to creatively adapt data analyses and visualizations as needed to meet the evolving demands and information needs associated with pandemic response; Knowledge of the various clinical testing modalities and prevailing metrics for monitoring covid-19 testing, vaccination, and related data; Knowledge of automated data analysis and visualization tools to efficiently clean, analyze, and present data.
