The senior director of finance (sdof) will be involved in providing strategic and tactical thinking as well as broad business insightThe individual will take a leadership role in developing the financial strategy to support the long-term growth of the business, while continuing to become more efficient on the cost side.
Specifically, the sdof will provide consistent leadership, strategy and direction in all financial affairs of the company, including operation finances, financial planning, and analysis, including merger and acquisitions and deal analysis.
He/she will ensure that proper financial reporting systems are in place to detect early warning signals in the financials that forecast both positive and negative trends and articulate these issues to the management group.
The sdof will work closely with his/her finance team to ensure the accounting system is maintained and reconciledThe sdofwill be very involved with daily/weekly/monthly financial and accounting.
Serve as a key member of the company’s executive team.
Works closely with the ceo and the executive team to drive the company to superior levels of performance-with emphasis on increased profitability, lower operating costs and better cash flow management.
Build an effective strategically sound financial function for the companyEstablish appropriate business controls to engender a “results and accountability focus” in all decision makingHelp lead the organization through the challenges of growth, and position the business to capitalize on new opportunities.
Maintain responsibility for the administration of the company’s controls regarding expenditures, including capital spending programs.
Provide deal/strategic alliance analysis (financial projections, negotiations, contract reviews, etc.)Responsible for identifying, negotiating and closing acquisitions, direct investments, joint ventures and strategic alliances.
Collaborates with senior executives to develop short- and long-range strategic business plans that complement corporate growth and performance objectives.
Oversees the development of operating budgets, capital budgets and forecasts to accomplish the goals set out in the strategic business plans.
Ensures the company’s overall financial operations are organized in the most efficient manner commensurate with providing high-quality service to managementAlong with this, sees that the company is effectively deploying and leveraging information technology.
Monitors the financial activities of the company’s operating divisions, ensuring the implementation of sound financial systems and controls and the consistent application of financial policies and procedures are in place.
Oversees the short-term investment of the company’s operating funds in accordance with objectives and policies.
Represents the company in dealings with external regulatory agencies, financial institutions and other entities whose programs and procedures impact the financial operations and condition of the company.
Furnishes the ceo and other top executives with the financial data and analyses necessary for making major decisions and measuring resultsAssists other company executives in evaluating their activities from a financial perspective and in determining future policies.

Significant experiences in financial modeling and analyses at the operating unit level.
Successful track record in a business environment in a rapidly changing industry sector.
Experience with qb enterprise/accountants edition, microsoft excel, adp, google suite, expense tracking software
Experience with overhead rates and dcaa accounting
Federal/state government contracting experience
Strong oral and written communication skills
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment
Strong analytical, planning organization and delegation skills, with excellent attention to detail
Effective mentoring and coaching skills, to ensure continuous professional development within the function
Must have the proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations

Strong budgeting, financial planning, general ledger, ar, ap, payroll, income tax and banking working knowledge required
10+ years of finance experience including 7-10 years of leadership/management experience
