Education Specialist

This is a remote position

The Education Specialist supports learners in AAPC courses via email and phone. The Education Specialist also acts as a subject matter expert (SME) in creation and revision of AAPC content and resources.

Responsibilities:

• Improve course completion and exam pass rates
• Instruct and encourage learners by accurately answering questions via email and phone
• Provide excellent customer service at all times; be respectful, courteous, positive, and professional
• Manage multiple inboxes, responding to all emails within 48 hours
• Create and maintain educational content
• Apply coding expertise in creating and maintaining curriculum
• Author, update, and edit text, assessments, lectures, assessment questions, practical application activities, and presentations
• Collaborate with a team of internal and external experts
• Positively contribute to AAPC's well-established team of coding educators in providing industry-best training and membership experience
  
  

Required Skills/Qualifications:

• CIC and AAPC Approved Instructor certification required
• High School Diploma (Bachelors preferred)
• 5 years of inpatient medical coding experience
• Teaching/Instructing experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication a must
• Excellent Organizational skills; able to prioritize workload and complete tasks effectively
• Commitment to accuracy, attention to detail, adherence to deadlines
• Pleasant and cooperative attitude with team-oriented disposition
• Computer literacy (MS Office applications, in particular)

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
