Full job description
Position responsibilities: 1Receives referrals 2Assess the mental and behavioral health status of referred patients. 3Provide counseling/talk therapy to scheduled patients utilizing professional counseling standards. 4Formulates differential diagnosis of mild to moderate mental health conditions. 5Formulates short-term and long-term counseling plans for patients under care. 6Consults with medical director and other providers regarding complex patients and regarding prescription medications prescribed by providers. 7Identify patients with urgent mental health conditions (e.gSuicidal, homicidal, psychotic, etc.) and make appropriate referrals to available emergency or psychiatric treatment facilities. 8Provide written document of counseling sessions, assessments, interventions, and recommendations for providers and to meet requirements for medical records documentation. 9.provides family and individual therapy sessions. 11Maintain schedule for clients on your caseload. 12Prepare monthly productivity reports 13.participate in a team management approach to patient care/treatment. 14Maintain an understanding of how behavioral health priorities are administered under state of michigan.
15Follow dhhs guidelines, consult with specialists and colleagues to review and participate in the care of patients receiving indirect/contract medical
16Maintain appropriate documentation of clinical and counseling services, including all necessary billing informationEnsure accurate and consistent use of encounter forms for all client contracts with behavioral health providers to ensure accurate billing of third party resources.
17Maintain and update professional knowledge and proficiency through continuing education, staff meetings, workshops and serving on special committees.
18Provide counseling to victims of sexual abuse, domestic violence and hate crimes.
19Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications: must be a licensed professional counselor, licensed marriage and family therapist, or licensed clinical social worker in the state you reside in Currently accepting individuals who have a temporary license to practice as a license professional counselor as wellMust be willing and able to pass a background check and drug screenApplicants must have five years post masters experience providing counseling to individuals and familiesMust have at least three years experience providing counseling to individuals with ptsd symptoms or victims of domestic violence and sexual abuse.
