This role will be temporarily remote-based in the bay area or austin market (other locations will be considered for the right candidate).
What you will be doing
In this role, you will be providing project management support for the materials team, including building management protocols, processes, tools, and participating in developing the project team structure.
Essential job functions
Builds projects management protocols for the materials department from the ground up, including processes, tools and team structure.
Creates processes for process evaluation and post-mortems.
Manages estimated cost at completion and revenue forecasting for project pipeline, based on buyout, project schedules and progress to date.
Takes ownership of the initiatives assigned, establishes teams both internal and consultant-based, plans out quarterly work with schedules, key milestones, budgets, goals, and priorities with tracking mechanisms.
Leads a team of internal designers, researchers, and creators to successfully execute the group's initiatives and overall goals.
Checks in regularly with lab leadership; facilitates meetings and workshops and other processes necessary for high quality work product.
Identifies good consultant partners and executes all contracts necessary to build out the right consultant team to successfully complete initiatives.
Develops analytical frameworks and reports that expedite the decision-making ability of design and fabrication teams.
Has an open and flexible attitude toward developing alternate solutions and methods to enhance or supplant industry norms, and has enough knowledge to understand the impacts of the norms that are broken.
Ability to be an extension of the business development team to seek out additional work in existing contracts.
Senior licensed architect or project manager with a degree in architecture, engineering or construction management
Expertise in budget preparation, financial analysis, construction and project management
Excellent planning skills, including careful attention to detail, information organization and timeline tracking; ability to utilize data to tell a story.
Ability to predict risk and roadblocks in advance, establishing contingency plans to maintain revenue, schedule, and cost targets.
Ability to take many components constituting an initiative and prioritize these to achieve the company's goals.
Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively across many teams and at all organizational levels - internal and external to the company.
Solution-seeking and action-oriented individual that can advance progress with both customer and company in mind.
Demonstrated positive and effective leadership.
Organized, meticulous manager, yet also a creative problem solver.
Working knowledge of building and planning codes and construction processes, with the ability to foresee regulatory or bureaucratic obstacles to execution.
Effective strategic negotiation skills, and ability to influence and collaborate at all organizational levels, and with partner and vendor teams.
Relentless curiosity and a passion for the built environment.
An obsession with user-centered discovery and design process.

Ability to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word and perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction and having the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication.
