Description:
Coder will review operative reports to abstract procedure, diagnosis, and implant information to be entered into our coding platformUtilizes all applicable resources such as ama cpt assistant, aha coding clinic, lcds, ncds, and ncci editsSubmits physician queries when needed.
This is a flexible, remote, independent contractor position (1099), paid at a piece rate.
Piece rate is determined by case complexity levels 1 - 3 (asc coding is op report only, not entire patient record)More info on levels to be provided during screening/interview process.
Level 1 $1/case
Level 2 $2/case
Level 3 $3.25/case
**seeking coders with ability to code primarily levels 2 and 3 which consist of ent, ophthalmology, general surgery, cosmetics, urology, orthopedics, podiatry, spines, etc.
Requirements:
Coding certification through aapc or ahima is required (no apprentice designations accepted at this time)
A minimum of 2 years surgical coding experience is required, asc-specific experience preferred
High school diploma or equivalent, college level coursework preferred
Extensive knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
Must have a dedicated home office, free from distraction, with your own pc and high-speed internet
Must pass a coding test
