This is a remote contract position that requires 40 hours a week and overtime as needed.
Validate and abstract risk adjustment specific diagnosis codes utilizing a computer assisted coding platform. Flag documentation that is unacceptable for submission. Maintain production and accuracy requirements for project. Adhere to coding guidelines and phi security.
Certification requirements: active cpc or ccs and crc preferred. 3+ years of risk adjustment experience coding in a production environment. Deep understanding and knowledge of risk adjustment models. Extensive knowledge of icd-10-cm coding guidelines. Ability to code using an icd-10-cm cod book. Strong clinical skills related to chronic illness diagnosis, treatment and management. Advanced knowledge of medical terminology, abbreviations, anatomy and physiology, major disease processes, and pharmacology. Ability to think critically and determine the best method for completing tasks. Strong computer skills (ms windows, ms office, emr systems, and internet). Reliability and a commitment to meeting tight deadlines. Personal discipline to work remotely in a secure designated office space. Must have high-speed internet access, a home computer (dual monitors preferred) with a current windows operating system. Knowledge of hipaa, recognizing a commitment to privacy, security and confidentiality of all documentation.
