Cceh was founded in 1982 by staff and volunteers of homeless services organizations in response to the emerging crisis of homelessnessNearly forty years later, as the tragedy and crisis of homelessness persist in our state, cceh continues the fight to achieve an end to homelessness to respond to the needs of people experiencing homelessness and the people who serve them, applying and scaling solutions, adapting to new frontline challenges, and advancing policy and systems change to improve access to housing and reduce inflow into homelessnessAmong our recent accomplishments include leading the creation of a coordinated statewide homeless response system, advancing the statewide adoption of shelter diversion interventions, raising and administering flexible financial and rental assistance funding, and creating a statewide housing assistance program for returning citizensThrough these and other efforts, connecticut has achieved a 35% decrease in homelessness since 2007 – in contrast to trends in many states where homelessness in increasing.
Working as part of the technical assistance and capacity building team, the program coordinator directly reviews, approves, and processes requests for cceh’s financial and rental assistance programs and provides coordination and support for cceh’s technical assistance, training, and program intermediary activitiesSpecifically, the program coordinator will review, conduct due diligence, and approve daily requests for financial and rental assistance across multiple programs and funds, assist in ensuring compliance with regulations and funder obligations, troubleshoot challenges, and prepare reports as neededIn addition, the program coordinator plays a key role in coordinating cceh’s housing assistance program for returning citizens and coordination of statewide efforts to end youth homelessness, as well as provide support for cceh’s other technical assistance and training activities.
Review, conduct due diligence, and approve daily requests for cceh’s various client flexible financial and rental assistance funds for shelter diversion, rapid exit, and rapid re-housing programs
Produce regular reports on financial and rental assistance expenditures, households served, and uses of funds
Assist with meeting funder/program compliance requirements, including to hud, office of policy and management, and other funders
Identify, directly troubleshoot, and/or elevate to program staff any issues and challenges that arise with flexible financial and rental assistance administration
Provide ongoing maintenance and upgrades to online financial assistance request application portals in smartsheets and hmis
Track and ensure processing of approved and issued payments, assist other staff to address payment issues
Prepare and provide promissory notes and letters as needed
Collaborate with director of finance and administration on recordkeeping, tracking payments, and reporting
Build and maintain working relationships with provider staff who make requests, assist in providing training to providers across state on cceh’s financial/rental assistance programs
Work with communications team to identify and share client stories to highlight program results
Provide support and coordination to cceh’s technical assistance and training activities
Other duties as assigned.

Skills in meeting preparation, facilitation, note taking, and tracking follow-up items
Experience with smartsheets and homeless management information systems preferred
Experience with microsoft office suite.
Familiarity with quickbooks a plus

Commitment and passion for assisting people experiencing homelessness or other vulnerable populations

Required education & experience:
Bachelors or associate’s degree; relevant experience may substitute for education
At least three years’ professional experience in direct services, program support, or administrative roles, preferably in a non-profit and/or human services setting
