Description:
The childcare and services program clerk is responsible for records maintenance for the child care and development program and general resources department this position files, organizes, and records demographic information and usage for various benefit programs including childcare and early learning development fund, general welfare childcare, and baby cornerThis position at times can involve verifying program eligibility, assisting childcare facilities with access to resources, filing po requests for mini grants, processing monthly subsidies, and assisting the ccdf coordinator with program recertification and grant complianceThis is a non-exempt position that reports to the general resources manager.
Essential functions
Ensure proper management of program records and informationRecord demographic information and benefit information for the departmentOversee the electronic filing system for the department.
Maintain confidentiality and communicate with tact and discretion.
Assist ccdf program coordinator with planning of grant goals and objectives.
Assist ccdf program coordinator with recertification of families and childcare/ early learning facilities.
Participate in department meetings and trainings as appropriateParticipate in continuing education as required and/or needed to fulfill job duties.
Assist tribal members to apply for benefits and access resources as requested by the department
Preparing documents needed for grant reporting.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
High school degree and previous work experience office administrative settings.
Knowledge of native cultures, history, and traditions strongly preferred.
Computer skills:
Must be proficient with computers and general office equipmentProficient computer skills including
Microsoft office suite, specifically microsoft excel and adobe.
Other requirements:
Effective problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
Excellent customer service skills and written and verbal communicationDemonstrated ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations.
Strong organizational skills and accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and use tact and discretion.
Conditions of employment
Must agree to be subject to the tribe's controlled substance and alcohol testing policy to include pre-employment screening.
Must pass background check.
Additional information
Compensation will be determined based on experience, starting at $15.81 per hour.
This is a temporary full time position, expected end date september 30, 2022.
This is a remote position except for required meetings/trainings approximately once per month.
