Amazon web services provides a highly reliable, scalable, and low-cost infrastructure platform in the cloud that powers hundreds of thousands of businesses in 190 countries around the worldThe amazon web services (aws) training & certification team is seeking an innovative, driven, and experienced program manager to create, develop, manage and maintain aws technical certification exams in a rapidly evolving and expanding landscape for global deliverySuccessful candidates will have a strong exam development background, be detail driven, and have excellent training and problem solving skillsYou will have an understanding of certification exam development lifecycle and be able to effectively train subject matter experts on certification best practicesYou will creatively seek out and embrace forward-looking, innovative approaches to exam development that hone efficiency and maintain or enhance quality while maintaining valid, reliable, fair, and relevant certifications that support the aws platform.
Roles and responsibilities
Facilitate exam development workshops: job task analysis, item writing/review, and standard setting
Recruit and collaborate with subject matter experts
Train subject matter experts on amazon’s style guidelines and exam development best practices
Conduct quality reviews of exam files
Implement proper tracking mechanisms for item workflow
Manage and implement item development processes (in person and remote)
Manage the editorial review of items (e.gGrammar, spelling, standardizing on technical terms throughout the exam, etc.)
Create and implement exam maintenance schedules
Report on subject matter expert, item, and exam development metrics
Ability to travel up to 25% (domestic and international)
This role can be performed near any us aws office in the following cities: arlington, atlanta, austin, ballston, boston, chicago, cupertino, dallas, denver, detroit, east palo alto, herndon, houston, irvine, minneapolis, new york city, pittsburgh, portland, san diego, san francisco, seattle, washington d.c., tempe, sunnyvale, or santa monica.
The pay range for this position in colorado is $98,700 - $160,000/yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experienceA sign-on bonus and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offeredThis information is provided per the colorado equal pay actBase pay information is based on market locationApplicants should apply via amazon's internal or external careers site.
Experience developing it certifications
Experience with development of performance-based items
Experience creating models for automatic item generation
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Comfortable presenting in large groups, including to senior management
A proven track record of being detail-oriented with a demonstrated ability to self-motivate and follow through on projects
Experience working with multiple item banking systems and assessment delivery platforms
Experience with linear-on-the-fly test delivery
Adept problem solver with strong judgment and decision-making skills
