Role description and location:
The senior director of digital transformation is a key position in global supply chain operations with responsibility for helping to enhance the speed, cost, and transparency of the supply chain through the application of innovative technologiesThe role is responsible for building onto existing digital solutions as well as identifying new technologies that can further integrate the supply chain ecosystem and provide a competitive advantage for cienaThis is a leadership position with some direct management responsibilities.
Location is open, preferably us or canada
Directly develop and manage the digitalization vision, strategy, budget, roadmap and change management plan
Influence supply chain leadership and functional experts on evaluating and making strategic decisions around long-term digitalization opportunities that are aligned to business strategy, financial performance goals and operational objectives
Engage with key external partners to benchmark, understand their digital vision and roadmap, identify potential synergies and provide overall thought leadership for the organization
Understand the business needs and use data driven insights to deliver solutions
Initiate and lead projects, including business case development, solution design, technical and system assessment, team formation, piloting and complete rollout of the solution, and effectiveness monitoring.
Interface with cross-functional stakeholders and lead the deployment of training and operational ramp up of new processes
Partner with project owners and development leads within the organization to ensure coordination of efforts and a resulting unified solution
Employ fact-based decision-making tools and analysis to extract and analyze information, identify the root causes of issues, and provide solution recommendations.
Present recommendations and progress reports to senior and executive leadership
Manage project delivery timelines to ensure projects are on track and on budget while delivering against market & business requirements
Develop, manage, and prioritize the project backlog of initiatives
Key performance indicators:
Providing detailed analyses and data-based recommendations
Project charters strongly advance organization’s strategic goals
Projects are delivered with a customer/employee centric focused and cost benefit to the organization
Delivering projects on time, within budget and according to quality
Bs degree in logistics, supply chain management, procurement, engineering, or other related field preferred (or 15 years of relevant experience)
Minimum of 4+ years of experience in supply chain, project or product management, or digital capability development
Understanding of and experience with operational data and analytics needs
Experience leading complex projects in a distributed supply chain environment
Experience leading projects that leverage technology to improve process efficiencies
Experience leading projects with 3rd party logistics (3pl) or contract manufacturing partners.
Preferred experience leveraging lean tools to eliminate waste and enhance customer and shareholder value.
Demonstrated understanding of logistics, distribution, and end to end supply chain.
Experience managing people and processes in procurement, manufacturing, distribution, logistics, or delivery/service.
Knowledge, skills & abilities:
Knowledge of erp, crm, wms and tms systems knowledgeDemantra, e2open, alteryx & oracle a plus
Understanding of current and emerging technologies, including how other enterprises are employing them to drive digital business
Demonstrated ability to understand complex problems, rapidly identify solutions and communicate to all levels of leadership and partners
Ability to use strong decision making and problem-solving skills, logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to customize to various audiences
Ideal candidates will be capable of challenging senior and line management in a constructive, balanced way, offering solutions and fresh thinking
Demonstrated ability to inspire and mobilize others in the organization to initiate change
Able to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while meeting strict deadlines
