Nature and scope
The senior director of sales and strategic initiatives is responsible for revenue and profit generation for the american regent division (branded and generic)This srDirector will manage strategies and activities of the american regent national account team and the ar kam teamThe position will assume full responsibility for all trade and corporate accounts including negotiating contracts and related details, bringing strategies to life with key trade customers.
Essential duties and responsibilities
Actively contribute to product pipeline by providing product and channel market insights
Actively pursue business opportunities for the ar portfolio and partnership opportunities
Develop strategies that drive customer relationships with gpo’s, key target accounts; idns (integrated delivery networks), regional distributors.
Manage a team of national account professionals and national sales manager and lead them through the next phase of growth.
Execute strategic commercialization activities, including tactical programs to maintain market share, and strategic programs to increase market share and new product launches
Own, hit and exceed annual sales targets
Drive profitability; create, implement and manage business strategies to achieve american regent’s objectives for the injectable portfolio
Manage the negotiation of contracts, agreements, partnership with ar customers
Member of the pricing committee, collaborating to set pricing and contracting decisions across customer types in order to maximize profits
Work with sales operations to create data and tracking solutions to help the sales team better target and execute
Provide adequate reporting for product sales trends and develop action plans for internal and external customers
Partner with customers to understand their business needs and objectives
Understand and present to the internal team generic injectable landscapes and trends
Inform ar elt on forces that shift tactical budgets and strategic direction of accounts
Proactively manages the supply chain
Routinely evaluates sales efforts and focuses on high priority products identified by management
Administers and maintains required records, and prepares reports as requested by management
Collaborates with sales training to ensure sales-force communication and training are on-going
Work with the product management and sales teams to help develop, implement and analyze sales initiatives to promote product awareness and advocacy
Facilitate monthly and weekly sales update meetings with sales team members to ensure continued alignment of strategic priorities
Facilitate monthly sales update with internal commercial leadership team
Responsible for preparing and following departmental sales budgets
Support portfolio team to drive coordination between multiple departments for successful product launches.
Education requirements and qualifications
Bachelor’s degree is required.
Minimum of ten years’ injectable pharmaceutical sales experience, required
Minimum of seven years’ selling in the injectable generic space required
Minimum of seven years’ experience leading sales teams in a hospital space required as well as gpo national accounts experience
Strong consultative selling skills and the ability to identify opportunities and close business required
Deep understanding of the evolving idn landscape
Experience with contract management required
Experience managing wholesale agreements and relationships required
Ability to conceptualize, develop and execute strategies and plans
Strong financial/business acumen and analytical skills.
Proven contract negotiation and business planning skills
Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills including clear presentation of technical and analytical information to various management levels and external parties
Excellent interpersonal skills, especially with interactions at the c-suite level
Strong computer skills, high proficiency in microsoft word, excel and powerpoint.
This position is field based and requires extensive travel.
