The sales operations senior director will be an integral part of the americas leadership team and be responsible for i dentifying, leading and executing strategic business priorities and key initiatives for the americas sales teamWhile driving efficiency and productivity across the americas sales organization, the ideal candidate will create and lead change management initiatives, collaborating with ciena leadership to deliver strategic business results and be accountable for processes and tools used to enhance productivity and accelerate sales.
Position can be remote anywhere in the united states.
Primary duties and responsibilities
Identify and lead strategic business initiatives and key programs from development through successful execution in alignment with global gtm priorities in partnership with senior leadership.
Direct, create, and operationalize strategic processes to drive excellence in sales process execution, in partnership with global business operations and it.
Drive utilization of salesforce.com, power bi, and other account planning and customer engagement tools in concert with sales leadership and front line sellers.
Influence decision making with ciena executive audiences by establishing and nurturing relationships at the highest levels of the organization.
Drive the operational rhythm of the business which includes, but is not limited to, cultivating and executing leadership/staff meetings, all hands, business reviews and a regular cadence of peer and executive leadership meetings.
Serve as primary point of contact for the americas organization while creating initiatives designed to energize the team that focus on collaboration, knowledge transfer, learnings, product/solution positioning, etc.
Partner with the americas leadership team to drive internal change-management by evolving and/or improving current processes for optimized efficiency and productivity.
Provide thought leadership and facilitate ongoing organizational needs analysis, plan design and execution to ensure effectiveness and efficiency is maximized in the areas of analytics, compensation, reporting, budgets, and sales strategy.
Contribute to ciena’s culture of cross-functional cooperation and alignment by creating strong relationships with key business partners across the sales, customer success, corporate strategy and product organizations.
10-15+ years of experience in a go-to-market function; preferably with a high-tech company in a sales/business operations, chief-of-staff, or operational leadership role.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively influence and communicate cross-functionally throughout all levels of the organization.
Successful track record of project or program management and comfort independently driving processes for multi-faceted efforts with many stakeholders.
Strategic skills required to think long term and results orientation needed to execute.
Strong analytical skills with proven success at leading analysis and data-driven insight generation efforts.
Team oriented development and leadership skills with ability to manage virtual teams and direct work through others.
Collaborative team player who knows how to ‘get things done’ individually and collectively.
Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment, with ability to manage multiple, competing priorities, sometimes with ambiguity.
