Job description
The physician programs division of kaplan is a leading provider of educational resources that assist students, faculty, administrators, and post-graduate physician-educators in preparing for and improving their competence in the practice of medicine.
We are looking for an individual with experience as both a practicing clinician as well as 5-10 years of experience as a clinical educator to lead our content team.
This role is responsible for being the lead creator in the next generation of products and services for physicians-in-training at every level
Responsibilities
Lead the development and innovation of assessment products that provide best-in-market preparation for pre-clinical assessments (includes, but not limited to, step 1, level 1, benchmark testing)
Lead the creative direction, including, but not limited to, the assessment style guide that the team of writers follows to improve their consistency and quality.
Development of guidelines and metrics for improving writer quality.
Provide the model for best-in-class assessment items as models for the writer team.
Review the work of assessment writers, provide feedback, and ensure quality.
Lead the resolution of clinical quality issues and errata on all assessment items.
Other professional responsibilities
Directly contribute as a teacher via a variety of channels, including video.
Consult on assessment products related to clinical knowledge, e.g., step 2ck and level 2.
Maintain expert working knowledge of kaplan’s physician products so as to educate faculty, administrators, and students in their use as needed in support of sales, marketing, and other functions.
Provide input on the author team composition, hiring, and quality control.
Provide public-facing thought leadership via potential channels, e.g., blog posts, public appearances, etcOn trends in medical education as related to kaplan’s physician programs.
Develop and maintain effective and collegial working relationships with kaplan staff
Be a role model for others in promoting the company’s ethics and culture.
Assist colleagues in obtaining their goals and objectives.

Qualifications
Md or do
Experience in clinical/medical skills education at multiple levels
Knowledge of curricular design
Strong organizational skills
Self-motivated
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written
Proficient in use of basic technology, with high willingness to adapt and learn new applications and technology as the business and the field evolves
Job specifics (location and salary)
Remote location (can work from home with appropriate internet connectivity)
Expected to attend multiple conventions and visit clients throughout the country as appropriate (90 remote/10 travel)
Salary – competitive with that of an assistant instructor / faculty at a major university or higher as appropriate for credentials
