General description:
The executive director of global development strategy will report into the senior vice president of clinical development i/oThis role is responsible for leading strategic development opportunities for novel combinations, of both internal and external molecules, in multiple tumor types across early stage development and ensuring alignment within i/o and cross-functionally.

Essential functions of the job:
Formulate a strategy to drive novel combinations within the early clinical development (ecd) group; this would include collaboration across other functional areas as needed and involve internal assets and external assets where appropriate
In collaboration with ecd lead, build a team and working process to achieve the above strategy
Identify unmet medical need areas for developing new therapies in solid tumor indications
Guide the development plans for beigene assets across early and late stage development in multiple tumor types
Identify gaps for i/o portfolio for opportunities for internal assets by partnering with the early clinical development (ecd) group
Collaborate across i/o portfolio to ensure coordinated, consistent approach in overlapping tumor types
Liase with new product planning and competitive intelligence functions to obtain input on new opportunities for i/o assets
Guide pre-clinical and clinical external collaborations with academic centers and investigators
Set up and chair multiple solid tumor scientific advisory board meetings
Required education:
Phd with a minimum of 8 years of clinical development or strategy experience; ms with a minimum of 12 years of clinical development or strategy experience; or a bs with a minimum of 15 years of clinical development experienceIn addition, possess significant industry experience gained from the pharmaceutical or biotech industries (or related).
Qualifications:
Strong strategic and analytical thinking abilities
You will possess expertise in all aspects of the oncology drug development, including early and late stage through commercialization
Expert knowledge on the patient journey for patients with lung or gi cancer from diagnosis through treatmentAbility to translate that knowledge into strategies to tackle the highest areas of unmet need
Robust knowledge of and evidence of successful immuno-oncology product development based on strong scientific and clinical experience
Your background will be complemented with several years’ experience gained in working in cross-functional / project teams with proven track record of successful product development and commercialization based on strong science, commercial insights, market research and competitive intelligence.
